If you have to resort to using ACTUAL slurs in order to call out supposed bigotry (having a different opinion you don't agree with doesn't count), you already lost. I can't with these Twitter people. 💀 This is why I don't trust anyone who says they're "anti-racism" lol.

I know that both Zhen and Mohammed are amazing creators and its just absolutely disgusting that twitter would debase these people, even though they are literally part of the communities that Genshin Twitter wants to "protect" its actually sad that these people who do so much wrong to these creators haven't had their accounts restricted or banned because of their childish behaviour.

Mohammed is a great digital artist who supports all people. And the answer is no in the video he didn't say anything wrong all he pointed out is that forced tokenism never works and race swapping as well. be it white or black characters. Plus you should really check out his content he is a great youtuber for aspiring digital artists like myself.

They really showed their true colors, in their mind it's completely justified to hurl racial slurs and say I'm not black just because I'm your mod will always be sad & stupid to me.

3:00 Just wanted to note on this, people who call literally everybody racist have gotten me to the point where I can't tell who's actually racist anymore and who's just an innocent person being targeted for whatever reason. Actually, that's sadly the same for quite a lot of things nowadays.

A few thoughts I have on Xiran, as I don’t know anything about the other gentleman. - Xiran Jay Zhao is an incredibly talented creator and knowledgeable about Chinese and the surrounding area’s history. I’ve learned a lot from their videos. - I don’t agree with many of their takes on modern politics and social things but I would never say they are unintelligent. I would also never call them a slur like I have seen people do. You don’t agree with an anti racist, don’t be a racist to them, it’s not hard. - I hope they stop so closely courting a community of people that have proved themselves to be hateful and racist time and time again. - I wish nothing but the best for them because again, I’ve learned so much from the few videos of theirs I’ve watched and they’re funny as all hell.

Xiran and Mohammed are awesome people and content creators. If anyone is reading this I highly recommend their channels if you want to learn about Chinese culture and history in media and want some pretty good drawing advice on figure drawing.

I'll be honest here, I'm dark skinned, I'm from South America. I never understood the changing a character's skin tone, first, because in several cases, characters are not "white", but from another culture (aka japanese, chinese, korean, or from... literally any other part of the world), second, I never had a huge urge to be represented, to see myself in the screen in that matter, because in terms of where I live, people of color is so common, kids are no secluded and gatekeeped to their own skin colored peers, something that I see both with white, black or other types of families or micro-communities from USA (Which I believe, provides to the barriers of "people different to the ones you've been raised by"), here is so normal to see so many people with different skin tones or backgrounds that... no one is unique and different, and we couldn't care less about value based on the amount of melanin we have in our skin and that varies depending on the season, or exposure to the sun, diet, and more (Yes, we're magical, if you were to grab 4 pictures of myself you'll be color picking my skin and none of them would even match) A thing that I believe is the main source of the problen, is that USA citizens believe, that every other person of color from other parts of the world, live with the very same cultural and social problems as them. And that the severity of racism, is not necessarily the same as the one they experience and try to... force into others. They are quick to victimize themselves and responsabilize someone for an experience they don't have or not understanding their issue, which, of course makes someone feel that they are not being seen, but it'll be important that in order to demand to be understood, you also have to understand. With the Encanto controversy, most of us latineamericans, couldn't care less about the skin tone someone draws with, most were just happy to have their culture or history told in a story and having more people enjoying that as well, the skin is the least of our problems because the characters are easy to identify and again... we're having individuals who get offended on our behalf and try to speak for us, harassing others on our name and on top of that, not letting us speak but they are so right about how represed we are, but sadly they don't even look in a mirror! As an artist, I won't mind someone "failing" at getting a character's color "right" is not like they picked red when the color was supposed to be blue, and... not everyone has perfect eyesight, daltonic people exist, people with saturated monitors or with low brightness in their devices also exist and is not a big deal, because you won't always have a skin palette ready for you and color pick it that easily, no, artistically speaking you also have to train your eye to detect colors, and even in careers like Makeup, you coud end up picking a lighter or darker color for someone's skin, or even more ashy, more gray, more yellow, or red, etc and is not bad either. Their problems are not our problems, and just as they can claim and complain about the issues they have, we also have a right to express our opinion and express that we don't connect or share those feelings. The problem is not about making your own characters, or editing an anime screenshot because you want to edit yourself in the cartoon and have it at a pfp, the problem is pretending that you're fixing something from the real world by just making an edit or a drawing of an already existing character and call it superior to it's original counterpart. But hey, if you were to have an original character and another person did exactly the same thing that you do, you won't like it. So... there it is. Not everyone feels represented the same way. And not everyone has to necessarily agree or share an opinion, and no, a person's opinion won't "damage" a community. The harassement from both parts, the hatred, the death treats and the call outs and assumptions of how horrible another person is based on a single take, that's what damages a community.

I don't really get why people treat minorities as beautiful angels that need saving and protection, yet when one of then has an opinion or something that is different from em, they rip the wings and halos off and throw them down in hell or purgatory. This probably why Genshin doesn't even listen to us half the time, because that would mean THEY won and not Genshin. This isn't their creation.

Wasn't expecting Zhao to get caught in the Genshin Police crossfires today, boy howdy! If you haven't seen their work here on RU-vid, I highly recommend it. They go very much in-depth not only into Chinese culture and literature, but actual history as well, and will actually reach out to folks from different regions to give their own insight on certain subjects, as China is not one big amalgamation, but has their own regions and different cultures depending on said region.

Twitter is such a cesspit, the people on there are so desperate for the approval of others and following their insane cracked-out worldview that fictional representation is worth more than real people (even if those real people are of the groups they advocate for) strikes me as completely shallow. Even with the Bridget thing, these types didn't care when an actual trans person raised their concerns about how a character's resolution was flipped 180° (in a single bad ending mind you, so it's also predicated on failiure), they went straight to slurs, insults and death threats like a pit of piranhas the moment their was any dissent. They only care about appearing 'tolerant' to each other at this point, and any slight amount of reasonability or sanity must be stamped out.
