I LOVE how you kept it real and said the first mod should be maintenance. Everyone wants to jump in and make the car faster as soon as possible. Ive fell victim to this. I bought my dream muscle car, a 84 monte carlo and couldnt wait to take it out and drive it. I did a oil change and checked the tranny fluid (while it was off) and i took it out hot rodding it, and the tranny was slipping because it really didnt have the sufficient fluid level. so i was revving my engine a little harder to try and limp it home and blew the engine as well.
@@HastelloyC276 we all take L's but its how we bounce back from them.... now its in the shop getting a ls swap and a turbo.... we cant all be perfect like you 🤷🏽♂️
i will never understand when people are head over heels it’s power. “its just 200hp” damn dude i dont wanna race this beautiful & elegant car. I’m riding it like a VIP not a fucking douche bag. THAT IS WHAT LEXUS ARE FOR, VIP MOOD BRO
@siemenssx1 An old car can be bought for much cheaper. It's already devalued. A new car will just lose value over time, much more than a used car will. Resale value is higher but so is the loss in value. Also not necessarily a better ride either. Modern tech and better fuel mileage, yes. Hondas have a decent resale value but so does Lexus.
Shes perfect. Simplicity is the key to these amazing cars, some people rice them out and make them look, sound and run horrible. Props for doing all the right things
I have a gs350 2010 with 167k miles, Its on lowered springs + aftermarket tires & rims and I plan on getting a catback exhaust next week, I been hearing that I could get a RR racing tune but I'm a little un sure about it since I'm worried about the engines health with these miles, any tips? btw any other performance mods I can add that actually will give significant results?
I could make a general car one, which would get more views I'd assume, but I like to focus on what I know - the Lexus IS - and point out specific parts and upgrades that are popular for this model of Lexus. But yeah, most of these can be applied to any modified car.
Most mods are universal really. Like turbo kits that are not "plug and play", as in you will always have to look for other parts like injectors, get a custom exhaust for the setup etc. It's because it's customization and everyone has different tastes and needs.
Very helpful suggestions to bring any Lexus up to par with additional features! I've actually topped out on what you said with the exception of the rear defuser and stability bars. My next update will be a new a RR-RACING carbon airflow tube!

One often overlooked mod IMO is oem sized 2piece floating rotors. The IS350 already comes with stock 4 piston caliper Big Brake Kit and large 330mm stock rotors. The only problem is the stock rotors are heavy 24 pounds each. 2 piece rotors with aluminium hats are much lighter around 12 pounds each. Switching to 2 piece rotors immediately takes off 24 pounds of unsprung weight from the front of the IS350, improving braking and most importantly, ride and handling, all without even touching your springs and shock absorbers or chassis.
I'm gonna be the elephant in room, best exterior/cosmetic mods is to leave it stock especially if you have a f-soprt, all these is250 is350 look the same, vland headlights vland tail lights, same roof spoiler, same duck bill style trunk spoiler, same rear diffuser, same front lip, same is3 front bumper conversion etc all these mods are played out in my honest opinion, nothing original or any type of creativity smh, I'm all about maintenance and performance parts that actually work, in my opinion that's money well spent

My favorite one is the 7400rpm OV tune for sure. That's the one I've enjoyed most so far. Following that I'd say invidia midpipe combined with manzo exhaust even though manzo exhaust makes the car still kind of quiet.

@senorbonbon RR racing won't give you any power gains just the advantage of a higher limiter that will help with longer gears. I've been custom tuned to rev to 7600rpm with burbles for 2 years and haven't had an issue yet.
Great video! I have an is250 and was thinking about putting in a cold air intake but from what I've heard the placement sucks in hot air and can affect performance also I live in Australia and its hot most year around. Can you please give me some advice
Thanks! The factory box is technically already a cold air intake due to its design and induction points. You can replace the air filter, air intake tube/pipe and even drill an additional intake hole on the box like I did in a video of mine. That would be better than an aftermarket intake and would still get the cold air :)
Bought my used 2014 IS350 F-sport about 3 years ago. I've had alot of cars, but must say these IS's are just all around great cars. Just does everything well, enough power, good ride, reliable, easy to drive..etc. They are worth a look if you're interested in one. Peace!

I really like the VLand, MOSTPLUS Tail Light. I only see it for the IS 250 - IS 350. Do they make one for IS 250C? The Convertible one Tail Light is using a different style of Tail Light.
I wish there is a simple website to check and get all the things and instructions. I know I may sound lazy but i don't have time to tinker... E.g. I want to get android infotainment unit from ali express but don't know how to do the wiring or issues with air bag etc. Anyone knows a good forum?
Mesh K&N type filters are shite. Calculate cost + cleaning material to a paper filter. "Life of vehicle"? People keep their cars 4-7 years. Paper is cheaper
Rusty battery earth point needs removing, wire brush on drill to clean up, copper grease before refit. Replace all brake pins front and rear because they seize / warp / bad rubber after 100k. ABS sensor cables can fail not the sensor, check for voltage first. make sure the oil filter cap has a metal tube attached inside, They can come loose, end up in the old filter and in the bin by mistake. This will make the new filter squash and twist causing low oil pressure. Check the steering wheel down shaft UJ pinch bolts are fully tight and pinched together (above where your feet go drivers side.) They come loose making wheel play. Always reset SAS / torque sensor after wheel alignment or it will feel odd (Electronic steering)
If you are going to remove/replace so much of the Lexus' original features, WHY did you buy a Lexus in the first place ??? I appears to be really dumb to do what your video is suggesting !!!
I have a 2010 I bought a year ago due too the 40K miles it had.. But I wish I would have shopped around more.. For a 2011.. Cuz of the LED running lights..😫😫😫
Awesome video! I'm curious though. What kind of gas mileage do you get on your 350? My 350 has pretty crappy mileage! I get 22mpg at most even though I drive mostly on the highway.
Debadging you car is only something you can do with the very early models. My 09 has locator hole beneath the badges. So if you remove and don't replace them. You have a bunch of ugly little holes in your boot lid.
It does... Both have the same engine except the 350 is bigger displacement, different injectors, ecu tune etc. Look up on youtube. They sound almost identical
noticed the pa plate, any issues with emissions with any of these upgrades? I live in pa but I've traded in cars so frequently that I haven't ever went to get inspection.
Mr. Marty im in mexico and have had my lexus here for 6 months and plan to ceapit here.. My question is what shocks or struts do u recomend for the horibale roads here... Lots of pot holes and speed bumps and dirt raods.. I drive slow but still the town i live in roads are terrible
Anyone need a free 2014-2015 is 350 white factory painted oem front bumper minus the grill in Austin Texas . I no longer have an is 350 since I have my new RCF and this bumper is taking up space in my garage . I don’t care about the money since I’ve had it just sitting for like two years now ??? Serious af
Agree. Used to go as dark as I could on the tint but this time I went a little lighter. Still get a really good look but at least I can see out my back window now. With the auto dimming mirrors it is even worse with dark tint.
I bought a GROM but I wound up sending it back. I've read way too many complaints from people and I reached out to several youtubers and they all reported the same problems.
Future me when get money Black IS-F Vland lights tinted v land tailights fbo loi, rr, or powerchips tune carbon fiber duck bill spoiler carbon fiber rear window spoiler carbon fiber rear diffusor blacked out emblems except F logo
Where did u get ur front headlight and back headlights from. My Lexus 2009 is250 awd always has a balset issue replaced it like 5 times for each front light getting tired of it.
It's pretty annoying! Well these a few options out there. These were VIPMotoz or Venom brand...check out my newer video with the discounted DEPO v2 head lights. Rear lights are VLAND brand.
Thanks! Stock headlights should be able to - I forget how the back is. Halogen models will be easier than HID models. If the Phillips LEDs have the fan on them, and you adjust the output height correctly, should work just fine
@@MartyMotoring Thanks for the Info mate, appreciate it. I do have the Halogens so I think I might give it a go. Was just worried it wouldn't fit with the plastic backplate on. Wouldn't want to get water into the headlights.
the is250 is never gonna be powerful but if you focus on cutting weight and tuning the suspension....it will feel like a totally different car. i believe the recipe for the 2IS 250/350 is exhaust, drop in filter,rr tune, coilovers, front/rear sway bar, and LCA bushings/mounts
@@gparton85 what are you yapping about …. You can safely get this car up to 400+ whp Pick one up for 15k with less than 75k miles - with 5k into the engine at 20k you have a very reliable fast and good looking car Supercharger- tune and more work here and there throughout the years
@@davidcazares2469 400 whp from a 250 is wishful thinking. Yes these cars can be found at a reasonable price. And yes, they can be modified as little or as much as you like, but the turbo kit alone is typically in the $5000 to $7,000 range and that's not including any supporting mods. The 250 can be made fun to drive and even be called quick at times but there simply is no replacement for displacement. Anybody with a brain is going to say that 20k would be better spent picking up a 350

Bro this car does do BlueTooth media streaming audio... you just have to register your device in the settings and sound section on head unit ... go to portable media player and register your phone... no dongle is required to do this it can do this as well as use it as a phone for calling. I have both set on my unit
Next upgrade is taking off the ISF duck tail and replacing it with the Clinch duck tail on my 07 IS250. The tail sit higher, adds more flares, aggressiveness and looks better than the ISF duck tail in my opinion.
Quick question bro, How are the seats on the is350 f sport? I’m a heavier dude (5’11 265 pounds ) and the bolstering is a concern. I currently drive a 2010 370z and although I manage to live with it the car seats are pretty damn uncomfortable. I swap cars with my brother at times just because of comfort , he drives a 2006 Scion tC.. not the most comfortable car but doesn’t have massive bolstering. Would you suggest settling for the regular is350 with the flatter seats or is the bolstering on the f sport model not that big of a deal?
Being 6’1” and like 255lbs myself, I prefer the flatter ones for everyday comfort and driving. The bolstering in the F sports is the same as the ISF, not bad - but it can hit your leg and abdomen and get uncomfortable. Nonthe bolstering works great but you can move around more in the regular seats
Yo I have 2006 Lexus is350 I’m looking for Fuel pump new one can you guys help me get my car back on the road Please me out guys it’s the car I have 🙏🏾🙏🏾 send the link blow
I have heard that the Injen and KN cone intakes lose power according to dynos. I stuck with the F sport box, drop in filter and the RR Intake tube which is carbon fiber and doesn’t get very hot, which equals cooler air and potentially more power. I also like how it looks lol.
In the process of saving up for the down payment for a is350. Just scared of the high mileage that California is offering. $10k for anywhere from 115k to 150k or $6500-7k for 170k mileage.. I hate my state 😃 🔫
@@iheartgs400 agreed. However I'm sure there will be someone to comment under this telling us to drive one and we'll understand why 🤷♂️ 150k for $7-10k is ridiculous🤦♂️
Farley 925 you might as well swing the extra 1K for the 3Gen GS350 it’s just as fast as the IS350 with more room and better refinement overall and less likely to be trashed.
I have’08 IS350 too but have you ever deal with check engine light with this car before? I’m getting code P0420 which is the catalytic code but my car hasn’t been drive that much it’s got low mileage 77k not sure if that’s matter anyway anyone know what should I do? Should use lacquer thinner?
Replace the spark plugs pretty easy a man says 😅😅 on the 2nd gen IS350 the right bank of plugs are under the intake manifold. Now that's plastic part you don't wanna break by overtorquing
Hello. We need your help, can you provide a link to the heater motor for the Lexus IS 250 2009, where is the new one sold. Otherwise it broke for me =( Preferably on ebay. Thanks for the help)
Um,...well first lifter tick, wrong the ticking noise is the 1000 psi fuel pressure at the injectors, and I did not see you drill a hole, it was funny watching you fumble and bumble though.
I bought my 2009 is250 brand new. It currently has close to 216,000 miles. We have done all preventative maintenance on time. Best vehicle for reliability we have ever owned.
