1 kg of pork belly
1 kg of sauerkraut
2 leeks
1/2 cup sauerkraut brine
4 tablespoons pork lard
2 bay leaves
2 teaspoons paprika
ground black pepper to taste
salt for salting meat - 1/2 tsp.
Preparation method
1. Cut the leeks.
2. Cut the pork into strips.
3. Sprinkle salt, black pepper and a little paprika on both sides. Wait 10-15 minutes for the meat to absorb the marinade.
4. Cut the sauerkraut into strips, mix with the leeks. Sprinkle with paprika, stir.
5. Place half of the cabbage in the bottom of a crock pot greased with 2 tablespoons of lard.
Add 1-2 bay leaves, put layer of meat, then cabbage, meat and cabbage on top.
Pour in the brine and add the remaining fat.
6. Place the clay pot in the bottom of a cold oven, increase to 150 °. After reaching temperature, the dish is baked for 3 hours.
