Not selfish at all Landon, how else would people like me find people like ye? What would be selfish is if thee kept thine gift and talent hidden away and refused to commission any further creations, that's what would be selfish. The reward for good work is more work, get back to work! I want one. In those colours. Beautiful!

There's only one thing about it I don't like, and that is how the exhaust (authentic replication or otherwise) appears stuck on as an after thought. I'd want to improve that somehow. Easily done. When I was a child i had a friend who once attached toilet roll tubes to the back of his pedal bike to mimic an exhaust, he also pushed some cardboard into the spokes to create the desired sound effect. This reminded me of that. But everything else about it is perfect. I would perhaps also to opt for more modern seating with headrests, something akin to what singer use in their period 911's.

Landon Hunter I remember this car being brought home by my friends father around 2002-2004 . Do you know if he still owns it ? Also might I add seeing this build in person blew me away. The build quality was top notch.

@@ianworley8169 This was initially an abandoned project which was completed by myself the second owner. It is a Beck product, but early days in his career of the 550. I forget what the number was on the badging. Purchased by the original owner in the early 80's.

​@@hunts318 Had a close encounter when Ted Herbert offered his 550 for sale....It was between the son of the first Porsche dealer outside of Germany and myself. Ted told me he was sending the car 'home'. The dealership was in Richmond in the early '50s. Lindsay Fox now has ownership of the blue ex '56 Grand Prix Car ( Albert Park and NZ )...Tony Jones was the driver. Alan Jones is his son.

See above for engine...the exhaust was a "stinger" as it was called. Very retro, its a single weldment direct from both heads, and exits out a flare right after the collector.

This is a replica. The Brazilian ones usually are pretty good (especially the ones by Athos - ex-Chamonix).

Now its hard to find the real deal. They didn't make that many. Can bring up to 2 to 3 million for a real perfect one with the race 4 cam motor and the correct race windsheild. There weren't very many 550 spiders built by Porsche. I would guess that there are maybe 20 examples left in the world. The people who own them dont need money. If I was one of these people, I'm not sure that 5 million would be enough for me to let it go...... I have my doubts that you have owned a real one being that people like Ralph Lauren tend to keep their cars for many years. If you did own a real one.....you are very fortunate.

Yes, many details that only an eagle eye 550 owner/aficionado would fetch. The steering wheel is inadequate, wheels musnt be chromed, there's a handle for the passenger bolted on the dashboard missing, the seats and the left rear view mirror are wrong. Very impressive color though, never thought blue would be such a terrific fit.
