I played the Need for Speed Porsche game when I was a child and it was my favourite game for years. I still think it was one of the best racing games ever and it introduced me to this car. Legendary.

I love this car - my grandfather raced a 1957 one. I used to play in it as a child - the closest I got to it was a Miata. Absolutely beautiful car!

I cannot think of any single example of any purpose built race car Porsche built that is worth today less than the entire production run. I drove a plastic repro that had a hot 912 engine. Nothing below 4,000 but once there it was but a blink of the eye to past 6,000. The most exhilarating car I’ve ever driven. Someday maybe I’ll have a chassis to put my 912 engine in.

Porsche still to this day make some of the prettiest race cars ever. Arguably even prettier than anything by Ferrari.
