Wow. The rear wheel well hips are fucking beautiful on this model. It has that almost exaggerated cartoon-like look to it. Hands down, it's pure art. And, a beautiful exterior color, too. Excellent choices on the options.

Don't tell Kevin but your interior blows his away.

Imagine spending 3k to have 2 tail pipes removed lol. It's looks SO MUCH BETTER with the quad pipes

Good choice with xenon headlights. LED are just design. The power is lower. XENON for the win!!! You can also customize them. Different color or better projectors no problem there.

I love the look of the interior on your Porsche. Yours stands out (in a good way). The black interior may be more popular, but it's a bit bland for my tastes.

The 4 tailpipes looks soo much better than 2! wheels also look amazing!

I spend a lot of time on the configurator (dreaming lol), every 911 I spec has close to $45k in options... many of which I believe should be standard on a car like this.

Today I was in a Porsche dealership and I saw Targa 4s in Miami blue with red interior the car was hideous

Saw the car on the Post Rd today. I saw a blue Porsche, whipped my head around and saw the rear wiper and the decal. It looks awesome on the road!

Faster does not equal fun, hard truth

Rear window wiper is a no brainer! I totally agree. Form follows function. I'm so glad that Porsche still offers them, despite so many people not liking it.

It's March 2021 and I finally got a Porsche 911. It's a 2017 Carrera in graphite blue metallic. It's loaded with options. MSRP was $121,000 now it's $85,991 I love it. Thank you Nick for all your videos and advice.

The lemon was a blessing in disguise. You got your true dream car in this configuration.

Regarding the xenon vs led lights after living with both - one situation you might prefer to have xenons over led is during snow storms. I've had issues where the led's don't produce enough heat to melt snow/ice that accumulates over the headlights.

I would agree with you, I'd prefer the HID over LED any day!

Likely the best resource on the youtubes for configuring a 991.2 build, between this and previous videos. Excellent production quality as usual, and personally I love your car. Seems many people configure as though they are using it 90% track/10% street because that's what the forums push even though the reality is probably the opposite if even that. You make a compelling case that a 991 configured for comfort is still plenty sporty but so much more daily driveable.

I agree with you on the exhaust. I actually think it's really stupid that that made the sport exhaust only have 2 pipes and the standard has 4. To someone who isn't knowledgeable about cars they would think the standard exhaust is fancier! 4 is always better than 2 ;)

Style and substance, someone wrote. And he's right. You own it! Rear wiper (Europe here); four pipes; NO coffee grinding sports exhaust; leather steering column; manual gear; the wheels; sport plus seats... it's your taste and good thinking. Most of it would be my choice too. Dark blue exterior looks fantastic. I would go for a lighter color because I don't want to wash the car every two days: you see everything on dark paint. I could see road salt on yours easily. Really, congrats on your car Nick! It looks amazing and stands out in the crowd. Resale? You can always ship it to me if the Americans don't want it. But I'm sure there are more gentlemen like you. We don't all have a Trumped taste, lol. Cheers mate!

The car is lovely. The only thing I would have wanted done differently would have been looking into if it was possible to get it without any badges on the back. I never cared much for that whole "1.9" or "M2" stuff they put on all cars. It just looks cleaner and more elegant to me that way.

Fantastic video Nick. I am really looking forward to the headlight comparison. I think it would be very good for future buyers, and also possibly do alot of hits since no one has done it before.

Finally someone who agrees with my POV about the sunroof design, many cars have this for some reason. Where it just kinda hangs off the back while its fully open. I am quite thankful that on my old ford focus, it goes into the roof when it slides back - that may sacrifice how big the sunroof can be but that is a worthwhile sacrifice imo.

Your configuration is the best I have ever seen. Well thought out and so special with fine little details. And btw. the rear wiper it's the coolest thing ever + kinda looks old school.

There may be cars that are as fast, or that handle as well, but the modern era 911 is really the only car I look at without wanting to radically change things. People who love the design enough to pay for it are to be congratulated.

I don't see a lot of people talking about the entry and drive system. You pay extra to make your car less safe lol. It's even funnier if you know how it works. I don't know if there was a lawsuit but even on the webpage they state that this system is less secure than the regular key system.

Hey Nick, I was just wondering, how long did it take for Porsche to build the spec you asked for? I'm thinking about getting a 911 Carrera GTS with my own configuration, but if the time is too long, I may buy a spec inside the dealership. Love the interior of your car by the way, I never saw any 911 like it.

Nick, your configurations are way better than Kevin's. typical all black interior is simply boring, and his wheels don't really fit the smooth rounded design of the 911.

Nick, every time I've ever configured any 911 I always went with the night blue exterior with chalk/blue sport Tex interior. When I saw your car I flipped it looks even better than I imagined it would! Motivates me to keep working and stacking the chips up!! Thanks!!

I think you've configured it absolutely spot on. I would have opted for more traditional colours on the interior, but I have respect for the fact you didn't. Awesome 991.2

At first I didn't think the wheels and the interior colours would work with the overall look, but I was wrong, the car looks splendid.Hope you get to enjoy it without any problems!

Nick mate, if I had the means I would spec it almost exactly like you did. Your options and overall package is so useable, so many people don't realise a slightly softer suspension will make a world of difference... inherently it's still a sports car and will drive like it's on rails but without issue of harshness

Thanks Nick. My 911 Cab was delivered this week. Midnight blue and Luxor beige interior, with S wheels and twin exhaust pipes. Also has PDK, sports chrono and Bose. Very happy too!

The back of the seats is plastic to protect it from getting scratched from whoever, or whatever goes on the back seats. In most cars that part is plastic. Also rear whippers are fine on golfs but you just ruined the perfectly scalpted rear of your 911 with that ugly thing. It's an expensive, exotic sportscar, practicality comes after looks.

I agree with you on the color, wheels, headlights. The V8 and 4x4 decals are also a must. The quad exhaust looks much better than the center twin pipes. PDK however would be my choice over the manual simply because it's the best auto trans in the world. Nice car

Nick. Probably yours is the best spec Porsche 991.2 that I've ever seen. You sir, have a real sense of taste, and I don't mean "general accepted taste", I mean proper personal taste that ends up being a properly awesome one. That's not common these days, people tend to please the mass to get attention. So, congratulations on your new Porsche.

Totally agree it's your taste, not any haters, that are jealous or just their taste. If I buy a Porsche, it'll be to my specs not anyone else's!!

The cloth inserts with outer bolsters in leather is honestly the best configuration. From experience, the full leather will show it's age many many years before the cloth inserts. Plus cloth isn't freezing in the winter or scalding in the summer like leather is.

I usually am a boring fart who dresses mostly in black and likes all-black cars, but in one of the shots the interior+exterior combo just clicked for me. Congrats for finding an awesome look.

You nailed it with the sport tex seats and the colour of the interior. 4 pipes suit the car so much more.

2:43, just drooling over how your car looks Nick. The balance of that design is almost literally timeless, so it seems, and the quad tips look stunning. I like where they are placed on the car. Yeah there are a couple of things I would do differently but I have no intention of burbling on about things I don't quite like so much (well, more a case of don't love quite so much really) that are totally subjective. I will say however that, with all due respect to those who choose other wheel options, I like your wheel choice absolutely. I think your wheels lend visual balance to the car and overall, give a more muscular look while somehow giving a nod to the great 911s of previous decades. Nice touch.

Nick your wheels are a classic example of how different things are in real life .... in the configurator world I would have never picked those wheels ... but in your car they look really nice!!! Great choice, great configuration, well done for controlling your spending urge.... ;)

Some of those option prices are just crazy. Many of the things Porsche is charging extra for seem like they should be included in a premium vehicle at that price range. Glad you are happy with your new car.

It's gorgeous. So many options on a car like this are personal preference and style - there are no really wrong choices. When I bought my Stingray, it was the same thing - very hard to choose which things to get.

Love you Nick, but I still say it's a huge mistake that you didn't get the Sport Exhaust or PASM. You'll take a real hit in the resale department because of it, and those features really transform the car.

Nick.... I love your videos. You give honest opinions on the cars you drive. Sometimes i don't agree, but like you always say " to each his own". I love those seats and exterior combo. The smoker package that gets you the cig lighter and ashtray provides two benefits to non smokers. 1) replace the cig lighter with the rechargeable flashlight. 2) the ashtray is the perfect place to have the button panel for he escort installed detector placed in a custom panel that goes on it.
