@@bcs9972 - I didn't know that (very interesting & forward thinking) to go along with their partnership at Rimac. The car I REALLY want is the upcoming GT4 RS! I think it looks amazing & I love those intakes alongside the driver's & passenger's heads. It's gonna give the GT3 a run for it's money on the track!
Im 24 years old at the time writing this, during quarentine in 2020 I decided that I will have a 911. I dont know which model yet, but I dream about a Targa with Manual gearbox...I have a 10 year plan to achieve this goal, Im aiming to have one by the age of 34 so...until then, I will keep watching this type of videos and visualizing myself driving one, thank you max, this is pure motivation
What a car. *What a car.* For sure my dream modern vehicle. Words can’t explain my love for this car and one day would love to see it in my garage even if it’s in my dreams! Well done Porsche, for all you’re still doing this day and age! Aside from that, Merry Christmas guys! 🎄
This is a really good video. 😘😘😘 The video is designed so that viewers can watch it and watch it for a long time. You are a talented player. I'll always be your fan brother. I congratulate you😍😍😍😍
I would feel much happier to drive this on the roads than a "normal" GT3, as I prefer the more discreet appearance of this car... although I agree that active rear wing is a bit shit. And I love the fact that Porsche still gave the option of a manual gearing for this car! Happy Christmas guys - looking forward to more from you in the new year! 🎅
0 to 100KMH in 3.4s for PDK, 3.9 for manual. Half a second is nothing to sacrifice, and absolutely worth the pleasure of driving a manual over a crappy lazy paddshiz x)
I also have to sit a lot closer and more upright with the with the manual vs the pdk. PDK let’s you sit back, floor it and relax while driving like a maniac.. But...Whatever you end up buying ...you will always wish you bought the opposite spec later.. This is the genius of Porsche product marketing and management.. They always make you say: “In my next 911, I’ll get xyz spec” Excellent video as always. Keep them coming!
Beautifully poetic ending by Max, talking about the end of days and the light fading in the Netherlands. He gets better as a presenter all the time, and a big part of this channel's success is down to his charisma and talent. Keep it up, fellas. We'll be watching until it's dark.
but it actually did was awesome, each gear change. the dsg/pdk/etc change fast and let's you focus on the driving part but I feel it dumbs down the driving experience... at least that is how it felt between cupra dsg and manual cupra.
I think you're missing the point. It's not a daily driver GT3, it's a less flashy more under the radar GT3. So why would they put a rear seat or child seat in it. If you need that, then there's a GTS and Turbo. There's no difference in suspension or dynamic tuning, it's no softer than the regular GT3. Once u add a back seat, you're adding weight and taking away from its track focus and making it less GT3.
Love the GT3 and this Touring version. Would agree the rear spoiler on the Touring is a terrible idea. Why not just have a ducktail....For me , the Touring looks classy as hell in Navy Blue with the silver alloys and chrome trim. Like a Gentleman's Express. You would park-up and instantly look back with a smile.....Great Porsche.
A truly fantastic car, but wouldn’t it have made more sense to give the Touring slightly softer suspension and less extreme tires? Then you (or the clients Porsche selects to buy GT3s) really would have two flavours instead of “just” an exterior options package
For track driving I'd take a non-Touring package GT3 with the manual. When I drive on track I'm not racing; I'm driving for enjoyment. So for me, the manual is a no-brainer, even for the track.
Why are carbon ceramic breaks "a real must for this car?" I call BS. The steel breaks are excellent. People who own the Touring will never track the car. I challenge anyone to show video of anyone tracking their Touring on a regular basis. If the car is not tracked, steel breaks are fantastic. In fact, they work better than ceramic when breaks are cold. Ceramics work better on the track where brakes reach much higher temperatures.
Steel brakes are better for track days because they’re cheaper to replace. the ceramic brakes are hard-wearing on the road and no problem of rust ,corrosion or dust .
@@chriscambe Ceramic rotors are designed specifically to endure long periods of extreme use that would ordinarily result in extremely hot brakes and brake fade. In other words: track use. When steel brakes are installed on a tracked vehicle and the vehicle is pushed to even one-third of its potential, it will result in excessively hot brakes and brake fade. Furthermore, anyone who is serious about tracking a GT3, will not try to save several thousand dollars by installing steel brakes at the expense of safety and performance. If a person can afford the car, intended to track it, and opts for steel brake, they're the biggest cheapskate in the world.... and a dangerous cheapskate. Steel brakes are intended for road use, and they're excellent for that purpose. Steel brakes are a horribly dumb and dangerous decision for track use. Ceramics are a bad decision for road used because they are most effective when the brakes get hot, similar to high performance track tires working more effectively when they heat up. Under normal public road conditions, or in cold weather, ceramics perform worse than steel.
In theory you are right. Now go for a lap and you will see that the majority of cars are equipped with steel brakes. These brakes, and particularly the Porsche brakes, are perfectly suited for non-competition use. If ceramic brakes are a bad choice for the road, one wonders why Ferrari equips its road cars like the Roma or the GTC4 for example.
@@chriscambe Good question. Full disclosure, I do not have personal experience with ceramic brakes but learned about their characteristics which led to my comment. Unsure why Ferrari might have them on the car mentioned but suspect it could be a matter of prestige for owners.
Honestly, if you have an extra one of those and you wanna kindly gift it to me, it would be a very nice christmas present 😂 love you guys happy holidays!😂
+1 .. Great presentation,,, as always! .. Agree, enough of the murdered-out black alloy's and trim. .. Call me old sckol, make my alloy's & trim aluminum or silver aesthetic. .. 6sp manual GT3 Touring. .. Hey all,,, A super Merry Christmas & safe New Year 2022. .. Vail, Colorado
The only reason to take the full blown GT3 over this is if you are a series track racer, this car is so much nicer for so many countless reasons. And BTW why do they keep trying to brainwash us this Alcantera crap is a premium material, stop being sheeple! This car is Porsche's crowning achievement, superb review my friend.
You, Max. You are so refreshing to watch, you love cars and in the really mature way. You show respect to the craftmanships and have an amazing and mature taste. And you dont like matt black and that is just amazing to hear.
It's great that Porsche still makes manuals, without rev hang. Almost every other manual car, including BMW's have insane rev hang that makes them undrivable
Great video. The manual really changes the character of this car. WOW! All electric cars are automatic in practice, but you will never be able to row through your own gears in an electric car. This car is something special and looks to be another future classic. Thanks for sharing. BTW some really bold driving to be doing in the wet. Thanks, and glad you made it.
Great video! Was the 100-200 time with no lift shifting? Did that help with any of the weight transfer on shifting? That is a closer gap to the pdk than i would have thought!
totally agree with you on the rear spoiler, it's ugly - i also agree with you on the rear bench… why didn't they put a flat floor for extra luggage space ? it would be logical for a Touring car…
Another great video! I think we have nearly the exact same taste in cars. The 992 GT3 Touring is outstanding (minus funny spoiler instead of fixed duck tale) & the manual really suits it for daily enjoyment. PDK for regular GT3 & track days!
