I was genuinely sad when they announced they were going to stop. The adventures are fun, too, but the car reviews and banter are just pure joy to watch.
Those videos probably came with the cars... Those are the kind of videos shown when a new technology is used in a car, on car shows and general presentations of the car.
Not really, there are four Königseggs that will slap them around like nobody's business. Except MAYBE the 918 on a twisty track because it's got some things going for it that no other car since the 959 had.
@@michaelmay5453 koeniesegg and bugatti r technically faster on paper, but things that u cant put on paper like steering and electronics makes a big difference
Pennzoil is even crazier. Pennzoil oil lubricant company makes crazy drag-twist driving ads... navigating through underpass bridge column supports at very high speeds. Stunt driving to the max.
@@djxjxixsmjxjskjzxn1853 No, James May was serious, his name is LaFerrari because he represents the essence of Ferrari, they have worked many years in Maranello and it is a sign of respect for the history of Ferrari, in Italy it's normal to call excellence in this way, it's like calling Baresi or Maldini TheDefender.
I love how Jeremy and Richard are so keen on who has the fastest car, while James is just absolutely geniunely enjoying driving his literal dream car 😂
@@veritasardens6547 I think it was Jeremy's idea to be in an open airfield racetrack and bring a masked driver who doesn't speak to test the cars when they first created Top Gear 2002, sadly all of that are now owned by BBC. But good thing Mr. Willman and almost all of the crew joined Jeremy, Richard, and May during their departure and created Grand Tour
yeah thats true, but the driver who make the fastest laps on the cars maybe not the best one,i mean when cris harris test then in portimao the p1 was the fastest and in this just seem that the driver didnt have the mastering of the mclaren, but gotta love the porsche and the p1,not a fan of la ferrari
@@MrCoreslash that may be because on TGT they did flying laps but when chris took them round they did not, so that may be why the results were different
You chosen the LaFerrari because you fell in love with it You chosen the Porsche spider because you were amazed on how good and technical it is You chosen the McLaren P1 because you just love the brutally of it
I would buy P1 purely for that mother of all spoilers especially when it acts as air brakes I would buy LaFerrari purely for that V12 sound especially when downshifting and the way the car looks I would buy 918 because even though it has less power and torque than the two, its faster than the two on most tracks, its spyder and it certainly costs less and also for the sound of that high revving V8
Out of all of these three, I would pick the P1, it is equipped with Drag Reduction System, Kinetic Energy Recovery System, and an Overtake Button. Pure F1 tech. Hell to the Yeah.
Porsche is such an underrated sports car manufacture. They might not build the most spectacular cars, but the best engineered and those with the best setup. My engineering professor always told us, "if you want to go straight, buy a Ferrari. If you want to be the quickest around the corners, buy a Porsche!"
The 918 is a quintessential Porsche. Unassuming, if beautiful and elegant, but quicker than almost anything other at the time. The P1 is as evil looking as a car can possibly be. It is looks exactly matching the driving experience. A widow maker inside and out. The LaFerrari truly lives up to its name. It is the quintessential Ferrari. The essence of Maranello, like other Halo cars before it. Nothing has come close to it, and it will stay that way for some time.
I miss these guys, new special to be released SOON and I'm excited. I can't be the only one that watches The Grand Tour over and over and over again. LOL
You're right mate, can't wait for their releases, just wish they would be able to have Chris Harris join in their holy trinity antics! Edit: and call him The Kid!
@@atunughosh4932 Everyone has a preference for a particular thing, in this case it's the 918's design, so YOU CAN'T TELL SOMEONE TO SHUT UP WHEN IT'S A MATTER OF OPINIONS, UNDERSTAND THAT!!!!
With a pair of cans and the volume cranked those engines gave me goosebumps. These boys were genuinely taken by these rides. £1 mil each is not shocking.
I have to admit this… Over the years, I've sort of gone off Clarkson and his (previously) sycophantic mate, with James May being the guy I came to respect most. But this little video brings back all of the best bits of the original dynamism of the trio. Clarkson has mellowed into a more likeable bloke: he's gradually coming down from his superiority complex. Hammond has become a real bloke instead of playing Muttley to Dick (above). And May, thankfully, is still just the properly consistent, authentic guy he always was and always will be. You know what, guys? With this, you've got my adrenalin running again… Thanks.
Watching this reminds me of the top gear moments. I must say that this trio must surely be one of the motoring journalist I will ever experience in my life.
The Porsche might have a chance but those lame graphics on it, kill the looks... But agreed the P1 is just aesthetically pleasing, more than the other 2...
Any hypercar intro from Jeremy Clarkson in his gravely yet regal voice in enough to make a man jump from the coutch ready to put his very soul and essence into a race with the mindset of a professional F1 racer!! DAMN!!!!
918 all day. Cheaper, just as real-world fast, more comfortable, more usable, more technically advanced, even the roof comes off for when the sun is out, and to these eyes and in the right colour the prettiest car if not quite as in-your-face cartoonish as the other two.
This is, like Hammond's review of the 918, automotive journalism at it's finest. Amazing video! I can just imagine Hammond saying "back..back" at the end of the video 🤣
As a road car that 918 is a piece of engineering art, so sophisticated on the inside and yet so subtle on the outside.. And the P1, well lets be gentle, its a piece of roller-coaster that's trying to throw you out at each turn but that's the fun about it because it wants to kill you and yet it doesn't. ( In the voice of Jezza Clarkson)
