Thanks y’all! That’s the money shot. Another great morimoto product from you guys. I have Morimotos in my Ram and I’ve done projector retrofits in the past with you guys and morimoto and I love that y’all are local to me, Atlanta.
Literally, Night and Day! I'm looking into this, as I have Hella Glass lense, with Amazon bought LEDs, but the beam pattern is not in line, thus pretty off, and no function of my high beams, as the LEDS are only low beam. Thanks for this informative review! ('85 Corolla GTS Coupe).
@@tims_4x4_garage unfortunately it’s back ordered. Says stocking on 12/21 but that doesnt necessarily mean mine will ship. I’ll def try to put a video up once I do get them!
@@HaveyoumetKen I ordered last Tuesday, 11/30, mine were back ordered as well with a 12/21 estimated ship date but they ended up shipping Monday 12/6 and I received them Wednesday (I’m in Atlanta near TheRetrofitSource where I bought them) so maybe yours will ship by the end of this week. I’ll sub so I can catch that video when you post it. 4x will be insanely bright compared to halogens. The company product videos show lumens and that’s cool, but means nothing if you can’t see better. That’s why I felt like I needed to make an on-road video even though my videography is low budget I enjoy it.
I've been looking for a video of these headlights in use. Great comparison! The price for these is a little high to buy immediately, though these are on my wishlist now.
I got them from Theretrofitsource. I believe they only come in round ones or rectangular ones so you can’t mess it up. You just have to pick the color (cool/warm). I have the warm here and also in rectangular lights on my YJ.
these look nice, when u look at the car, but seem to be murky or hazy in their pattern because there is no projector. So you have to get weird UFO looking lights but at least they function more crisply.
Nice before and after results, those high beams are LIT UP! I’m thinking this setup would have helped me avoid some recent front end damage caused by a deer avoidance incident. 😬
@@tims_4x4_garage It is a major bummer, but repairable. Luckily no frame damage, just a bent up and busted weld on the radiator support bracket… some high dollar items in there. Waiting on a second appraisal estimate from my insurance provider. 🤞🏼
@@NC944er yea, I saw that damage to the radiator support. Looks rough. You should get a quote from edredas, he’s on here and he’s based in NC. He restores and rebuilds 944s for a living. I’m sure you’ve come across his videos.
@@tims_4x4_garage Yeah, they do great work, but too rich for my blood. 😂 The adjuster wanted to write it off as a total loss. They offered me $8,200 and I’d get to keep the car, but then it would be listed as salvage and immediately worth like 40% less. I think I’ve convinced them I can do my own work to reduce costs, so trying to agree on a figure that will allow the car’s status to remain intact.
@@NC944er Dang man good luck with getting that sorted out and getting your car back running. I know you can’t replace it with one in like condition for that amount of money
I sold this car but I have the same headlights in my jeep but rectangle size and they’re still good. They’re fully sealed I don’t foresee any problems. hope this helps.
@@SalvagedCircuitry I got the classic/warm color for my 95 YJ, same as the color I put in the 87 Porsche to keep the classic look (I can’t remember the color temperature number)
Im sure those are badass lights and i love projectors BUT on this car, I didn’t want the look of a projector or a halo or anything that didn’t match the 80’s vibe of the car
Hey man I went with the “classic white” which is the 3000k which has a yellower tint rather than a bluer tint. I wanted to keep the retro 80s look of the car and match the fog lights. For me, this matched the look I was going for.
Bad LEDs are worse than stocks for sure. Usually bright but awful pattern with very little useful light. These are pricey (I picked them up over Black Friday) but morimoto stuff is always top notch. I think even the morimoto bulbs I dropped in my ram were like $200. I daily drive my 944 and I leave for work when it’s still pitch black out so headlight upgrade was worth the money for me.
