The paint is only original once, and the struts look great compared to what we see in the northeast; I would leave them as is. A good trick for making a line around a cylinder is to put a hose clamp on; as it tightens, it becomes perpendicular to the cylinder, so you can use a sharpie to mark or cut along the edge of the hose clamp.

For some reason when I put the insert inside of the strut housing and I try to tighten the bolt down it doesn’t go in anymore and gets very tight. So tight that you can’t thread the bolt in anymore than a 1/4. The strut will then spin itself and not allow me to tighten the bolt anymore. Any idea on why this is happening?

The pipe cutter did not cut in a circle as it's support rollers where on two different diameter

Hey quick question. In a previous video you sealed the rear hatch with 3M adhesive. I am curious as to how well that has held up. Thanks and have a good one!

Getting ready to do this on my S2 this winter. Question? Every other tutorial shows welding a new end cap on the old strut to add stability on rebound. Is that just not needed any longer or did you skip this step for some reason?

No welding required at all . It is a very simple process. I did not exclude any step.
