Makes sense as to why it could be an issue.. many cars like this and the ford GT sit for years and sitting is about the worst thing you can do for a higher performance car, stuff corrodes and brakes down over time. Not sure about these issues with Paul Walkers cars, but it was known that the tires were ancient, never drive with old tires on a car even if you are just for a cruise. Hope you are able to get back out there soon!
I feel like if they are going to dictate through the DVSA that there is a recall and the cars can't really be driven then they owe it to the owners to get it sorted. If they hadn't done that then I would agree with you.

I remember it was DDE, they broke down at low speed with a suspension part and had a pro look at it on site. He actually said their problem was well known for CGTs. That was long before the recall - so Porsche better give you a set of free rubber. 😅

Tom , that is awesome customer service from Porsche , a Carrera GT did go for $1.6m at Sotheby's at car week in the US last week , I watched the live auction
That particular GT is now apparently is at 'Gintani ' for ' upgrades ' such as twin turbo's ( although I feel that would take away the purity of the GT )
