Porsche Cayenne: How I Fixed The Brake Booster Faulty Message

In this video I show you how I fixed the brake booster faulty message on my 2005 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. The VW Touareg is very similar.
Below is what I used in order to fix the brake booster:
Mityvac Tool (tests vacuum): amzn.to/3xP2NUt

HA ... very similar to the Touareg. Same cracked plastic hose in the same places.

Hi Dan love the videos, I've got a cayenne turbo with the same fault I've not got any split hoses or anything but it seems that when the brake is pressed the brake booster doesn't actually do anything wether it's connected or not is it likely to of failed? I've read alot that they don't generally break.

Hi Dan, I have a 05 Porsche Cayenne, and the seat backs on the seats fell off. I was told it’s a very common problem, but my unique problem is somebody already fixed mine the wrong way. I found another 05 in the junkyard with the seat backs attached. Do you have a video of how to detach them. I would rather pay the $50 junkyard price, rather than the $349.99 each Porsche price. Thank you in advance with your help with matter.

Hi Duffy, did you see my video on how to fix a falling seat back on a Cayenne? There is a link in the description to all of my Cayenne repair videos. If you have to detach the seat backs from the seat try giving them a good pull from the top right below the head rest. I'm sure that will release the weaken glue if they are still holding. At the very bottom of the seat back there are two plastic hangers that you want to be very careful with so you don't break them. You will want to lift up and away so you don't break these plastic hangers once the seat back has fallen. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi Dan another great video. I had same problem but had 3 cracked plastic tubes. Replaced all 3 and faulty code went away. Now I’m dealing with a popped air suspension bag on left front on my 2006 CTS. Any problems with yours yet?

Thanks Huey! Was all of the cracked tubing in front of the firewall by the vacuum air pump? I haven't had any problems with air suspension yet, but I only have 74k miles. Historically Porsche's air suspension has been extremely reliable. How many miles do you have?

Yes all 3 plastic tubes by firewall. 2 were down by the t connection. I have 112k miles on mine. Love the car but keep having to do minor repairs to it. Been thinking about replacing it soon. Looking at newer Armada. I know not as cool or fast but want something to also tow my 23 ft boat. Currently I’ve been using Cayenne to tow. Haha. Fastest boat on land.

I hear ya! I love my Cayenne too! I can't complain too much though since I didn't pay anywhere near the original MSRP and most of these cars are 10 or more years old by now. I do think if Porsche used better materials from the get go, my Cayenne would be just as reliable as our Lexus. I don't get the Germans infatuation with using so much cheap plastic under the hood. You would think that a company with so much engineering prowess would no better. I guess you don't get to be the most profitable car company by using quality materials? ;)

This dyi instantly fixed warning for cayenne 9PA brake mulfuncation followed by code 1310 no signal/communication level module. Love it.

do you just cut cracked pipe and get hose from parts store? those vacuum hoses are very expensive. they appear like touareg hoses.

Hi Dan. Great video I think this is the same thing wrong with mine. Will check it after this message. On another topic I have a strange vibration under high boost in auto mode. When switching to manual shift the vibration is not there. Ideas? Not sure if related but in auto mode it runs out gears longer than what I'm used to. Cruising at 40mph it's in 4th running a little over 2k rpm is that normal? Thanks for the great video. Now wheres my flash light

Thanks for the videos. Do you know how to change a TCM- transfer control module? My 04 Cayenne S won't shift out of 3rd gear. It parks, and reverses. I was told the transfer control module is probably bad.

Hi Elio, I would check one of the Cayenne forums to get help on changing out the TCM. I haven't had the pleasure of doing that, yet. Good luck!

Think i disrupted my pipe there when i changed the ignition coils and plugs. Hmm. Will have the check that

It wouldn't surprise me if it was the cause. Your plastic pipe is probably pretty brittle and crusty by now after all these years.

@@DIYDanCars it was the front pipe, the one at the passenger side airfilter box ( just next to the aircompressor hose connecting to the airbox.). Real hot location for an unshieled plastic pipe. No wonder it is brittle. The pipe from aircompressor to airfilter properly shielded, but not the brake vacum pipe. Those beauty covers, think i will ditch them, no function really.
