I am very limited on mechanical skills, and this video helped me sail right thru it as a DYI project! Jotted down the tools you stated while watching your video, went out and had it done in about an hour and a half. Thank you so much!
Thank you for your help with this video, I just replaced the tank on a 2005 Cayenne S 4.5 V8 and the only difference is the vacuum part isn't there. Thanks again.
I haven't had to do this fix (yet lol) but your videos have helped me out soo much and has saved me a ton of money on my 2009 Cayenne S. You're a man of the people!
Hey Dan hope all is well today i saw some coolant leaking by the passenger side I'm assuming the it's the tank my question is we don't need no special to te take the air out of the system ? When. We go fill it back up with coolant ?
Great stuff again. How did you identify that it was the coolant tank leaking? I recently did the metal tee upgrades, pipes, etc... After getting it all done I accidentally overfilled the coolant tank. Took it for a spin and I was leaking coolant on the passenger side with liquid ending up as far as the the air filter box. I pulled and held 23 lbs with my Airlift purge/refill tool after adding back the coolant. I'm wondering if maybe it is my coolant tank possibly. I can't quite find where its coming from.
No problem! There are a couple of obvious symptoms. The first one would be having to constantly top up the expansion tank with coolant, and the other is the smell of burning coolant. Hope this helps!
@@DIYDanCars ok. Well I haven't had my 2006 Cayenne that long but I just checked the coolant and looks to be below Min. Don't drive it much so haven't noticed any sweet smell but I will top up and see what happens. Saw your other vid on replacing the Tees. Hope I don't have to do that. Thanks again for all you share. I've learnt a lot from you. Love your channel.
@@spikerama Thanks Dave! I appreciate the kind words. I would do just that. Top up the coolant and see if it falls below the min mark again. If it does, I would start with the coolant tank because they are known to go bad quite often. Keep in mind that only the Cayenne Turbo has coolant Ts, and the rest of the model lineup does not. Good luck!
Dan, I just purchased a 05 Cayenne Turbo, owner said the T's and Coolant pipes were converted to metal. However after only 3 days I got a low coolant warning. I filled the coolant and its leaking down the passenger wheel well. I don't see any leaks from the coolant tank. If it's leaking on the passenger side is that a sign it's the coolant tank?? What signs did you notice it was the tank? Or do you think its a bigger job?
Mhmm I have the same side of the leak, but it’s water, mhmm okay later I saw actual coolant drop siting still, so it is leaking coolant, what if it can be the water pump ?
