Port's disastrous 2011 season appears to have hit rock bottom. Going down this week in a nail biter against The Bye. A match they would have expected to win easily. The Bye able to get across the line despite the lack of a player list, facilities, training staff, coaches or any physical presence whatsoever. Port Adelaide's season now in tatters.

If port have won 37 flags, then the crows have won 96, because all of the SANFL teams except port adelaide are associated with the crows.

Going by that theory Footscray have won about 20 flags from the VFA... Collingwood and Geelong have lots too. Doesn't matter if their the same club premierships won in another competition are completely irrelevant.

Great clip! Very well done, good work to those involved. Don't stress Port Fan's, the reality is some one will be down the bottom every year, if it's not your team then its another. That's the way the cookie crumbles. People need to stop having a go at teams down bottom, the reality is there will always be someone down there.. remember Collingwood late 90's early 2000.

The only way the afl can support more teams is if they start two conferences like the NBA, but Australia is no where near big enough or doesnt have anywhere near enough people to form any more teams let alone two conferences. Any number over 18 teams is to many

In the SANFL. You see Collingwood add up their flags from their AFL and VFL side, or Geelong? You can't can't attribute an AFL team with flags from a completely different side, in a completely different league.

@ipsilon160 To continue my previous comment due to lack of space, I believe the only way for the Port Adelaide Football Club to survive is to cut all ties with the SANFL side, meaning no more jailbar heritage strips, no more 36 SANFL premierships, and no ties at all to the Port Adelaide Football Club that was so despised by the rest of the SANFL. They should be the Port Adelaide Power, 2004 Premiers, and nothing else. If they build a successful culture of their own, the supporters will come.

No, the fact Poort Adelaide fans are bragging about being top after round 1 is a joke. When they beat GWS/GCS in the next 3 weeks they will still probably be stop. Sure, you can say we (the Crows) were in a similar position last year due to the easy fixture run, but we carried on our great form, beating some of the best teams in the competition throughout the season. This great start will end up biting Power in the arse and they'll soon be 16th playing infront of 13k fans for every home game.

You're right they they did earn their way in to the AFL by beening (not an English word) the most dominate team in the SANFL. We're not the biggest joke a club (doesn't make any sense). Port lost a Grand Final by 119 points, they lost to Gold Coast at Aami Stadium the first time they played them, and they lost to GWS by 6 goals the first time they played them. P.S. Did you do Grammar and English in school? Didn't think so.

1) Chad Wingard is unconsistant. So was Chad Cornes. They were both good players but only every second week. 2) They didn't, but that was only this year. We have played more finals than Port and we are improving. We are going to get all of our good forwards back next year and we will have depth incase one of them gets injured again.

@ipsilon160 I believe the AFL has room for as many as 3 successful South Australian teams, but the problem is that the Adelaide Crows can be supported at AFL level by supporters of Norwood, Glenelg, Sturt, WWT etc. However the Power are only supported by Port Adelaide SANFL supporters. Port were actually handed an AFL license before the SANFL stripped it and Adelaide were formed as a composite side. Port Adelaide are in the same position as Adelaide, a young rebuilding side.

They beat Melbourne, Greater Western Sydney at Aami, an out of form Adelaide, Gold Coast and a West Coast side which doesn't include A LOT of their stars, including Nic Naitanui.
