Accidentally commented under someone's comment cause I'm daft 😅 That whole part of bay street was the Blackstone burial ground, which includes the ropeworks and the new builds on the otherside, there was also a building where they are digging now that I think was part of the ropeworks?. The side they're digging now was the "poor" side and i believe there was also a cholera pit, the side where the new builds are was the "well off" side, sadly wjen they dug it up they just tore out and dumped all the gravestones, i also used to live there.
My great grand parents were buried in this cemetery, I can remember as a child my grandmother saying the cemetery was going to be dug up and the bodies moved to Port Glasgow cemetery but as she did not have enough money to do anything she would let them get on with it. So what is the news it was a cemetery

I was agreeing with the comment below. I don't really see the issue unless the council is not giving them a burial site, but as said in your video they are being moved to the cemetery. Richard III was buried underneath a carpark for example. This happens a lot in an expanding and overcrowded world. I don't think I'm the one being sensationalist but apologies if I have irritated you.
Do you suspect anything untoward all I can say is ask for in-depth outcome report from the council on all D.N.A samples and notify the families , some need to know
Old grave yards get build on all the time as long as the bodies are removed and given a burial.they was buildings on that site I bet no one made a big fuss when the build there the first time.
