Fun fact: "Kanakanaka" is a Hawaiian word basically meaning "Man" or person. "Tu rye ae" means "hold your ground" This was a hoisting shanty. Meaning sailors were pulling a line in unison. In order to do that, you need to keep your feet firmly planted, don't move around because you'll bump into people.
This film just got to Israel the same weekend with Ford vs Ferrari and The Irishman. And there's also Midway and other big blockbusters. I'm so glad I've decided to watch a film about a sea chanty group from Cornwall. I went out with a smirking smile on my face.
