My dad built our home at 176 18th Ave S, right on the edge of Port Royal, in 1957. House and lot = $12,000. Worth about $4 mil now. My dad also built the guest house on our property, which I'm pleased to see is still there and has escaped being super-sized. My parents were wealthy, but I wouldn't want to live in Naples today. Too many snooty people. Just too many people, period. It was a much better town back in the 60s...
I used to ride my bike there everyday for exercise, amazing area, I once spoke to a women walking her dog and I asked if the gawking is annoying, since 75% of the cars are people drooling over the homes, she said o yeah, I told my husband we should re do the front yard to be more private. I was like yeah who wants these people staring all day like they have never seen a home before. she goes o do you live here? I said no im poor but I feel ya. she laughed. it was actually pretty cool
It’s okay you guys, just enjoy the view of this place because you will never buy houses there. It’s MILLIONS of dollars (: so just drive by port royal and imagine that a house is urs
