Historic Downtown and Uptown Walking Tour
Port Townsend is renowned for its picturesque scenery and historic maritime history. Featuring one of the largest American West Coast harbors, the city became an important seaport and banking center. The Uptown district features numerous well-preserved Victorian residences and the downtown commercial buildings. The walk begins with the entrance into the downtown including a view of the Whidbey Island Ferry. Continue into the historic downtown and marina district. The walk concludes with a steep incline into the Uptown district that features some of Washington’s most beautiful and ornate late 19th century architecture.
