Rutland Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Preparedness team hosted a demonstration and drill of two (2) of the state’s portable hospitals. The demonstration was presented in partnership with the Vermont Department of Health’s Medical Countermeasures Program and the Medical Reserve Corps. Each hospital has a 20-bed capacity and is equipped with a small surgical suite.
Medical partners and personnel from other hospitals, EMS personnel, and other allied health partners have been invited to come to the demonstrations.
The drill provides staff and community partners with an opportunity to observe the resources the State provides in the event of a mass casualty incident or medical surge.
