Listen to the difference the PIB makes in a completely untreated room.
Check out the PIB on the GIK website:
www.gikacousti...
The PIB has a unique design that allows it to fold up for easy storage or to be taken on the go, and there are countless ways to personalize the PIB with different fabric colors, plate designs and finishes.

Here’s a question I’ve always wondered, why not turn the booth the other way around, assuming that the back of the mic is already rejecting the back?

With a cardioid polar pattern, wouldn't the ideal placement be to have the panels in back of you rather than in back of the mic?
@rome8180
@rome8180 Год назад
Why would it be? The sound is still traveling forward out of your mouth, guitar hole, or amp. If you absorb it before it gets to the wall in front of you, it will have nothing to reflect off of.

@matthewray5343 Год назад
@@rome8180 right but if the mic is cardioid pattern, it already rejects the a lot of reflection from the back of the mic. Since the mic does not reject what is in front of it, it will pick up reflections from the walls behind you more than than the walls in front of you. Obviously acoustic absorption all around is better but in this specific product where you only get one side treated, it may as well be the back for optimal reflection reduction.

What if you put two pins behind you and a Aston halo on the mic in front of you

nice ! I have just made an increase of 2 meters of my studio (now 5.5 meters X 3 meters), and now the acoustic is not good, too much resonance ... I m asking if 2 PIB could be the solution ? Using it as you show for vocals , and also to cut the room in 2 parts with it when mixing . What do you think of it ? Also do you confirm I can get pro recording of vocals with the system ? Thanks

On the website one pib costs around 300€ , how many panels do we have for this price ? Since you're using 2 and for 4 panels I'm a little confused
@GIKAcousticsLLC
@GIKAcousticsLLC 2 года назад
Unfortunately, simply looking at ordering 4 of our panels from a completely different product is not a straight comparison. While it is true our PIB consists of (4) 2" or 50mm acoustic panels including front reflective plates, such used on our Impression Pro Series, it is a product engineered to be held together with hinges and latching mechanisms for stability and flexibility to allow the customer to create a portable and tight reflection-free zone that looks and gives great results. It is not directly comparable to other wall-hanging products, and the true value of the PIB is aligned with our pricing and overall a beautiful addition to the line of freestanding Gobos or go-betweens.

better recording + you can use this in other ways if you need it
@rome8180
@rome8180 Год назад
Enough of them would. But there are more economical ways to do that. A PIB is almost $400. For enough to cover your room, you would end up spending thousands. And they only absorb down to 150 hz. You're better off buying bass traps and wall panels for your room. Cheaper and more effective.

If I my main goal was to reduce neighbour complaints from loud vocal recordings in an apartment, and the secondary goal was better acoustics - how much would these panels help me? I mean; Will they the reduce the risk of neighbour compaints from a loud singer substantially? :)
@prentisbrown551
@prentisbrown551 Год назад
it won't help much in that scenario. These are more so for preventing echos and stuff in your recording.. It doesn't help much when it comes to reducing noise that people hear outside of your home. You'd have to double insulate your studio to soundproof your spot in order to do that. Which can get pricey.
