I love wheatley too he betray cuz he got maniac cuz he was too weak and then he become a facility and since that power was too much he lost himself and that even make him dumb cuz he didn't even remember the turrets we broke together
I never realized this until now. The space core is orbiting around Wheatley, which means that he's super dense. And Wheatley also made dumb decisions in the game. Wow...
I just love so much when he gets to space, he says "space?!" In disbelief. He's finally going to go to space. "Space!" He needs to get there now. He somehow detaches himself from wheatley's chassis. Nothing is going to stop him from going to space now. "SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!" he finally made it. His goal is completed. He's going to live there rest of his life with what he loves most.
Kathi Ackermann im in space, space, SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!
+sghost128 I have a theory for that, cores can capsulate air that can last a few minutes of conversation, therefore it can release air for its verbose to function properly in a vacuum chamber, or in this case, space.
I didn't realize until just now that the Space Core didn't come out until Wheatley said "Space." The first time I thought it was just a funny coincidence, now I know that the core saw it's one chance to go to space and intentionally detached itself from the port it was in. This just got a million times more awesome.
This scene is so funny and sad at the same time. I love that Wheatley is genuinely sorry. Everybody can be tempted by power to become a patronizing megalomaniac. His threshold is just extremely low. I’M IN SPACE. And that’s actually not even his fault. He was built to be an idiot. SO MUCH SPACE! The game states that idiocy is a bigger danger than viciousness. I don't know if I agree, but it’s an interesting idea. SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE!
I cannot express my love for this game. "SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"
@space core hey SPAAAACE core, you know that there is an multiverse full of other SPAAACE core like you? one of them surely will become your friend, maybe all would become your friend. (oh my profile picture is SPAAAAACE)
Wheatly: "Anyway, ya know, if I was ever to see her again, you know what I'd say?" Space Core: "I'm in space." Wheatly: "I'd say (I'm sorry. Sincerely. I am sorry I was bossy. And monstrous. And I am genuinely sorry.)" Space Core: "I'm in space." Wheatly: "The end." Me: "It's okay, Wheatly. I forgive you."
If i ever go out in space, the first thing that i will say is: SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!
In another several decades when they decide to make Portal 3, I hope we catch up with these fine fellas. I want to see how insane Wheatley has become, and the revelation that space core was actually a von Neumann probe and has recorded the entire universe.
This is my headcanon: 1- Eventually, Wheatley grew fond of Space Core for being his only company in a vacuum after years. 2- Also, Space Core, at some point start to calling Wheatley "Space Mate", even if he corrected him
i love the last menu scene of just wheatley and the space core floating around and the peaceful music. just another reason i think this game is beautiful.
* GASP * I'm in space. Space! I'm in space! Gotta go to space! Space? Space? SPAAAAACE! Floating in space. Uh oh, here come the space cops. Space. Oo. Lady, lets go to space. Take me to space. I'm in space. SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!
For anyone who hasn’t realize it yet and have not figure out, glados stated that the machine turns you evil by messing with you, making you have an “Itch” and forcing you to act the way Wheatley did, and Wheatley is designed to be an idiot who is now attached to the machine, so this in turn made Wheatley evil in just seconds Glados in the other hand can handle it but not for that long, she’s been attached to it ever since, probably more than a decade, this is where it was shown why glados wasn’t evil when she was detached, and also because she had no choice but to join us. But with alot of exposition and reveals that this is infact true. Recently just played both Portal games, had a blast playing it 👍🏽
I just realized after 9 years, Wheatley is stuck with a core saying the same words for the longest period of time, the same torture GLaDOS went through when Wheatley was plugged into her.......
From out of all the cores in the game only The Space Core was the only one who truly had his dream of going to space made into a reality, truly He is one lucky Core
Weatley: Anyway, you know, if I was ever to see her, do you know what I'd say? Space Core: I'm in Space. Weatley: No, I was going to say... Space Core: SPAAAAAACE! Weatley: *sighs*
Originally, the space core was going to get tired of space and want to go back to earth shortly after getting to space. Valve made the exceptionally wise decision to cut this.
i agree with you. By the way my favorite Space Core quotes are the space cops quotes XD "Ohh. Play it cool. Play it cool. Here come the space cops. Here come the space cops." and "Atmosphere. Black holes. A-astronauts. Nebulas. Jupiter. The Big Dipper. The Big Dipper!" well ok, you like space Space Core thats obvious you're ALWAYS talking about it -.-
my older sister used to be obsessed w this game when she was 14, and she would always recite this and little 4 y/o thought it was the funniest thing ever 😭 now i’m 14 and i’m also addicted to this game lmao
Space Core SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I was actually really sad after Wheatley said he was sorry. Im sure it wasnt his fault he went all GLaDOS-killing-testing on Chell. They do say power currupts. Plus i think there was something that was in GLaDOS' body that made him corrupt.
I vividly recall playing this for the first time when the game was freshly released, and this particular scene felt absolutely epic to me. The music, coupled with the intensity of the entire battle, sent shivers down my spine, and I found myself immersed in the soundtrack for weeks. I would daydream, creating scenarios in my mind, all with this OST playing in the background.
For the ending I originally thought he was just making sure to complete Wheatley's sentences with *in space* _If I was ever to see her again you know what I'd say_ *in space* _I am sorry I was bossy and monstrous, and I am genuinely sorry_ *in space* Because as we all know you can't be sorry for something until you go to space.
