Ah, I'm not much of a person who uses translators to translate English but hey And I don't know what you meant by hamon but it's good because I love Spanish as much as English?
the Russian version has an extra play of words as well: they translated the "Stalemate Resolution Annex" more or less like "Unsolvable problem resolution department"
Best ones for me: German Glados, she sounds so adorable. English Wheatley because accent. And Russian Wheatley after transformation. He nailed laugh and sinister tone in his speach.
Yeah I definitely agree, Wheatley’s maniacal laughter is amazing in literally all the dubs and can be argued to be even better than the English ver. I loved all of them even if the voice acting for some characters may not be the best (apparently Russian GLaDOS isn’t very good but is better than portal 1)
@@S0m3B0z0OnTheInternetThe problem with Russian GLaDOS is that it is not emotional. All her voice acting is just a solid reading of the text, the maximum emotions are only from calm to formidable. Because of this, localization has lost such moments as "YES YOU ARE!", or "You like revenge, right?" or "The next chamber is.... Pretty. Much. Good." It’s even interesting how the localization director is allowed into the final version. By the way, in TF2 localization and translation was done by the same studio. And there is almost the same problem with the Administrator. You will never hear her maniacal laugh in Russian voice acting.
It's actually so weird when you hear bits of your first language when phasing out listening to something in a language you know but isn't your first language. Snaps you out of the trance.
russian translation is 65/35 good. wheatly is dubbed unbelievably good. voice actor did a great job, i like him so much. personality cores are dubbed pretty good. although, cave johnson lost his charm for me in some way, but still, he's pretty good. but glados on the other hand... she's monotonic. although she's better than portal 1 glados russian voice actress (yeah, they're different), but not for much. she still sounds robotic, like she still has a morality core attached to her. very little emotion. the game is translated very good. almost all, if not all of the jokes are present here. the game is still humorous. but because of glados, the main antagonist for the first half of the game, and a sidekick for the second half, i, the russian guy, always play portal 2 with english dub. which is bad, because russian wheatley va is godlike.
Русский Уитли немного не такой, как оригинальный. Мне больше нравится английская озвучка, в ней Уитли куда больший нервотик и с интонациями его работа мне нравится больше. Плюс британский акцент, куда же без него
I'd say English, French, and Russian Wheatleys (Wheatlies?) are my favourite. The original has that charming but dorky Bri'ish accent that takes on a much more sinister mocking tone. French has an even dorkier goofier "Let me show off my cool powers!" vibe, which is juxtaposed to his threatening messages. I may be biased about the Russian one because I'm Russian, but the "COULD AN IDIOT THROW YOU INTO THIS PIT, AH?!" is the most menacing thing I heard from a Russian voice actor, second only to the work done by the voice actor of Gustav from Metal Family. I think the individual sounds (how French is a bit more bubbly and "elegant" in its sound, and Russian sounds a lot more dry and roary) also help give rather different but interesting hints to the characters.
Same. I'm American, native English speaker. I love British Wheatley to bits. French Wheatley is my second favorite, he sounds so jovial and friendly. Russian Wheatley too, and it does seem like he hits the darker tones harder. Would love to be able to enjoy Russian Wheatley as a native speaker. Is he really friendly before taking control and menacing the whole time after he takes control?
Well, the english in the spanish part is obvious. As for the german part, most know english better than spanish, so they kept the joke more understandable
Russian and French Wheatley's get genuinely angry, i also like the French GLaDos scream with the detaching in sync at the end. The French dub is taking lots of liberties in the text and it makes it very enjoyable
Wheatley laughing in all languages English: 1:28 French: 5:06 German: 8:40 Spanish: 12:14 Russian: 15:47 GLaDOS screaming in all languages English: 0:30 French: 4:05 German: 7:37 Spanish: 11:12 Russian: 14:46 Wheatley screaming in all languages English: 0:22 French: 3:57 German: 7:30 Spanish: 11:05 Russian: 14:38
Yeah I’ve heard many people dislike Russian GLaDOS since she’s very monotone and sounds like a machine (which is fitting considering that she’s a robot) but I suppose it does make scenes where she’s sarcastic sound very..emotionless. Like English GLaDOS very much shows her emotions in her voice even if she is a robot (Caroline is still apart of GLaDOS even when she “deleted” her so she’s still technically a human, just in a robot body)
I'm honest, I love the German voice actors. They did such a great job portraying the characters. I think that German Wheatley did go 1 step overboard with the laugh though.
10 years since I first played the game, and I never looked for what that spanish line stood for. I just found it out now. And it is FREAKING HILARIOUS !
To be honest, when I first played this scream was quite scary. In fact, this scream is the most emotional of all the GLaDOS replicas in Russian, which is sad. I am not so much afraid of her screams mixed with "no" as the monotonous " AAAAAA"
Yeah it's disappointing, even when she's being sarcastic there's no emotion. But it's better than first portal tho.. seriously, don't search for russian voiceover of portal 1, it's too bad.. but if you do, mind that this horrific voice of glados is also applied to the TURRETS. Imagine if they would sound like a female terminator? They are
Russian Wheatley has the most "subtle" transition, like when he starts off laughing he still sounds friendly enough, unlike every other version you don't immediately get the "oh shit" realization, but that it transitions into mad cackling.
Fun Fact: Aleix Estadella the Dubbing Actor for Wheatley in Spanish is the same Dubbing Actor who does Spy from Team Fortress 2, Sid from Ice Age, Mort from Madagascar, Ginger from Shrek, Oh from Home, Sheen Stevez from Jimmy Neutron and Planet Sheen, The Lumpy Space Princess in Adventure Time, George of the Jungle in the 2007 Animated Series, Jar Jar Binks, Sascha Baron Cohen in Many of his Movies like The Dictator and Borat, James Corden in Several of his Movies, Merry in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and many other characters.
I bet GLaDOS' screams are remnants of Caroline's final moments before she was inserted into the mainframe. It's speculated that she died during the process.
I think it's hilarious how in English the error message is in Spanish, but in the Spanish version the error message is in English. I never thought of that, but I suppose it would make sense considering the circumstances
@@ГотаБГ this is very offending, and germans are ashamed of "Hitler" we only mention it for esucational porpuses or something like that, but not for jokes
ive always wondered what games and shows would do in an instance where they suddenly speak a different language and what the dub from the language origin does for it and this satisfies my theory happily
I'm gonna rank the GLaDOS death scream, Wheatleys laugh, and "I am not a MORON!". GLaDOS's death scream 1. English 0:25 2. Spanish 11:12 3. German 7:37 4. French 4:04 5. Russian 14:44 Wheatley's Laugh 1. German 8:40 2. Russian 15:47 3. Spanish 12:15 4. English 1:28 5. French 5:07 " I am *not a MORON!* " 1. German 10:20 2. English 3:08 3. Russian 17:26 4. French 6:46 5. Spanish 13:53
I really like how in Other Language the alternative Language Wheatley says is English. Adds a nice nod to the original developers and voice actors and a good parallel for people in other countries. Also i finally know what he said and its hilarious.
I knew Russian did very good job with localization but it is so well done! Yes in technical part it's not the best but we can fix that in 3 console commands.
We Germans usually dont say Schwachkopf becase its to long. The usual german word for Schwachkopf is, as it simpel sounds, Depp or Idiot First is more recommended to say. But hey im only from Bavaria.
Yeah I never payed attention to it while playing it, even when GlaDOS says she knows Wheatley she says "vous" where she could say "tu" so it could add up to what she's saying
