Test driving a 562xp with a Tsumara 30" bar - 101 3/8s links. I miss spoke in the filming, not a 110 driver bar as stated, sorry.
The chain is full comp Husky (Oregon).
The saw seems to run nicely - just add steroids (woods porting).
Some rot in the hinge always makes for a little more fun....
I am currently available for port work. If you are interested please shoot me an email.

I like how you place your axe as a indication of movement. That's some pro stuff there.

Perfect. You made a challenging tree look easy. That funny trunk, you cut it in the perfect spot, I thought. The saw..., wow, love the responsiveness of that saw, it must have been a monster once you set it for use and optimal mix. Wow, snappy. Nice work my Man, love it. Thanks for record'n. I have a Tree Monkey ported 562xp with a 20 bar/chain. I like it. I also have a 390xp ported by the same guy aka Scott Kunz of Augusta Wisconsin. He makes a mean ported 390xp!.

I haven’t watched much of his channel since it’s a lot of technical stuff for those that work on saws. And I really can’t remember why I left this comment either. Maybe just to brag about my saws I don’t know lol.... be careful in the woods, there’s a lot of loggers up here and I’ve known a few that never made it home after a day on the job in this small NW Wisconsin town.

Hi Jack, the 562 seems to have the power needed with the longer bars, but my question is, while using one with a 28-32 inch bar, does the stock oiler provide enough lube or is there a bigger oiler or modification to the stock one needed to flow whats required when running the saw daily? Thanks for your input and stay safe.
@hotsaws101
@hotsaws101 8 лет назад
+sevtlogging I would not run a 32" consistently on this saw, it is to small displacement wise. 28"er is the end of it for me - it will go to town with that length. The stock oiler does okay on the 28. Volume is a little lacking for a 32" bar i.m.h.o. Not aware of a h.o. oiler and I have not tried to modify the stock one, yet. Thx for watching!
@hotsaws101
@hotsaws101 7 лет назад
A 28" it pulls fine and oils alright. IMHO not so with a 32" mounted up. Besides, if a 32" bar is needed then I grabbing a bigger power head. Thanks for watching.

What saw do you like better in the 50 cc class the Stihl MS 261c-m or the Husqvarna 550 xp mk2? I live in southwest Missouri we have a lot of oak and hickory.
@hotsaws101
@hotsaws101 3 года назад
Randy hi. Most of the new Stihl saws are lacking in the lowend power department imho. I like the standard 550 since it is .7 of a pound less than the ll and not physically as large as the 562 like the 550ll. Assuming all saws are zipped too, Thanks for watching.

Jeff hi. Saw shops on the West Coast. I have at last ½ a dozen axes. A few are from in the '90s. Probably had this one for at least 10 years - Razursharp in Eureka Ca - from before this was filmed. Thanks for watching.

Are you running 50 or 58 gauge? It's shame they don't have those bars in 63.
@hotsaws101
@hotsaws101 7 лет назад
They use to make a Stihl mount 32"er that was .063 gauge. I am not sure if Tsumara still does of not. The chainsaw guy out of Canada sells a 30"er Stihl mount that is .063 currently I think. Thanks for watching.

+darryl sheppard I guess I'm neither a gorilla or finesse type operator. I live in eastern Canada. The furthest east you can go. The island of Newfoundland. I mostly cut small diameter wood and for the I use a stihl ms260. For slighter bigger jobs I have an 036. I really enjoy and learn from your videos on cutting larger diameter trees. You have awesome technique. I just recently bough a ms461 as some of the trees I am cutting are 24-30" diameter. Small by your standards but big wood for eastern Canada. Seems like a decent saw so far. I only ran about 20 tanks of gas through it. I have a 28" Oregon powermatch bar and chain. Any suggestions to what type of chain I should use? I am currently using stihl rc chain.

So do you do your porting yourself on the 562s and how much does it cost
@hotsaws101
@hotsaws101 2 года назад
Travis hi. I pondered this idea for a bit... If you are asking if I spend all that time "constructing"the bench talk videos, do all the saw testings, and go on tree killing sprees with clients saws,,, all the while talking about the zippkit levels, my thoughts when compared to other saws in the same (and possibly upper and possibly saws from another era) classes, and occasionally mentioning last names of the saw's owner but I'm farming out the actual modification or port work, the answer is NO. Email is the best, 1st point of contact. Thanks for watching.

hi, just wondering what sort of life span are you getting out of a ported 562
@zombiefighterof1987
@zombiefighterof1987 6 лет назад
Probably way less than with a stock one, it's already a terrible saw in the summer because of the high revs, opening the exhaust and making it run even hotter will ruin it in 2 years with regular use, especially actual forest work where you fell, limb and buck the tree with the stopping and starting nonstop. Throw in a 28" bar or longer and you have a lifespan of a solid year and a half.

Gentlemen hi. It’s a known quantity that there is less residual heat retained due to the enhanced flow characteristics of a ported muffler. Also more cool air/fuel is flowing through the engine. I don't run little saws like this much as a production cutter. They just don't get 'em off the stump fast enough. The other side of that is that the wood is to big and the terrain is rough so a guy is using a 32" or longer most often. Most professional fallers will use a saw, if it is their only saw, for a year. Then upgrade to a new one and sell the two year old spare. So maybe 200 days of work at somewhere around 6/7 hours a day. Longevity will depend upon a few factors. Mix oil choice being paramount. General maintenance is important. I had one 390xp I used here and there in seven different years for at least 6.5 million board feet cut. I had 562s in the hundreds of thousands cut - which takes a lot of days since the wood is smaller. Barring a weird mechanical failure, they seem to last me a fair amount of time. Thanks for watching.

+MrStihlman441 In this video it is Motul. They all pretty much all seem to smoke a little bit at 50:1, the conditions have to be just right for the better ones to be visible though. Also, what you are seeing is my saw/s not blowing up. Cheers as well!

Why are you packing two tapes?
@christistandley5661
@christistandley5661 2 года назад
kp123 I can't answer for Jack, but down here in Louisiana, before the delimbers took over, the skidders would drag the logs treelength to an area we called a cold deck. There the sawhands would cut the sawlogs to the proper lenth, and then they would be dragged on to the loader. If there was no one to hold the dummy end of your tape, you would have to walk all the way baxk to the butt to attach your tape on every single log, often 33' feet, and in this part of the country in may take 25 or 30 per load. That's a lot of walking. I've heard of guys carryng 4 tapes, and cutting a lot faster with far less walking.

I run two tapes in order to measure multiple trees, logs, at the same time. Similar in concept to what Christi had said. Less time spent walking back and forth. Thanks for watching gentlemen.
