I timed every cut with my stop watch. The Husky was floating around 6 and the Echo was at 7. Both solid builds and solid saws. But with a 3/8 chain... damn, that 550 is fast!
I like all saws that cut. The Echo saw's, run the best with or without being built, - ported after they get hot . Don't know why, a person can watch this video like me, and I can see the Echo, starting to get a lot faster at the end. Not saying that other saws don't do that at all. Just saying for some reason the Echo saw's seem to like getting hot. Maybe it's just me, not sure.
My take on it is …with the governed type carburetor they have it takes a few cuts for them to clean out ..I need to figure out them carbs and block the governor
That may be it. Something is going on with them. I've watched other people cut with them and it don't matter which size of saw it is. They start out slow, and after a few cuts, it's like a switch gets flipped and they take off.
