In this video we discuss the difference between ported and bored throttle body or bodies and also discuss what half shafting mod means and what benefits a half shafted throttle body presents. We also discuss aftermarket and different tb that are available and what options are available for the 5.7L HEMI engines

I’ve had Moe’s 87mm and I’ve had Fastman 84mm true bore. The true bore allows more cfm with less surface area over the ported TB’s. I don’t think there is a much of a difference but pending your mods it will be minimal either way.

I have a 2003 TB off of my 4.3L Vortec V6 ! It is a 75mm and the throttle plate is almost 76mm…. have you ever tried to put a larger throttle plate in these TBs? Every bit of air these engine can get will help these under powered V6 engines ! I`ve done all the internet Mod and polished it. These Tbs just need to be bored! Thanks Rod.

Taking material off the shaft is 90% of airflow gain. Making the hole bigger is 10%.

I open a throttle body for a ls1 and inside the plugs from the motor of the throttle body you weld those for better contact spray some grease for better performance.

Lol what these guys fail to realize the ported ones do better then if this even was a true 85mm bore is the ported creates a venturi air effect which speeds aur up when the center of the throttle body has the slightly smaller diameter the intake side of the body just polish it get ride of the coieffeicent air drag kept the venturi affect and speed of a which is technically a vacuum so it's just a benefit. Mopar performance tuner. Tuned hellcats and demons dont fall for the funk! The cnc guy is right as well

I accidentally found your website and YT video completely unrelated. I want the 64mm for my jeep but 320$ + I have to send my core is wayyyy too spendy for a few mm. I got a lisle hone, but the rack is too big and I'd need to flex hone 60 thou to make my rigid hone fit. Out of your minds with the price. Maybe worth 150$ to most people. Ill make a throttle plate from some stock 6061 I have.

I have a 63 mm on my ecotec V6 holden Commodore. I want the 69 mm TB from mace engineering. And a remapped ECU as I can't get a high performance engine chip only for basic mods! Bummer! Cheers from Australia 🙂👍👍

went from factory 55mm to a factory(bored out 59,5mm with bigger plate) on my car and gained 8+hp on a 130hp engine, air is important for engine performance who knew xD

After doing my own porting and polish on holden Commodore ecotec V6. 3.8 litre? Inside diameter between TB and manifold had a big restriction. Not a few mm but more like 10mm. I'm still wanting to get 69 mm TB and a custom remapped ECU? In this situation? The car is a lot more responsive than before!

that opening is called a pinch point and will usually result in a higher intake velocity which creates torque - so plenty of plausible theory in porting up to the center section.. imagine when u look down at a stream where it narrows, air is exactly the same - it speeds up in the narrow section- providing a wide entry to a narrow (stock) center WILL add power.. thats why all carbs have that too in the primaries.

I bored two jeep throttle bodies on a Bridgeport mill, 56mm to 62mm straight through. Then milled a bar on a 5° angle, bolted the throttle plate to it, and turned a new plate. The 5° machines the plate slightly oval. Is that how you do it?

Moe's performance you can get 90mm throttle body mine RAM has stage 2 performance cam on the engine it's pretty fast.

If you remove the throttle body make sure you disconnect the battery and wait 1 hour if you don’t have the device to reset the throttle body.

Don’t remove the plate from the throttle body only if you know have to calibrate if you don’t know how and remove the plate you going to have fun trying to fix it. Is not hard but better if you don’t remove it.

Throttle bottle spacer... thoughts from Ram- heads?? My '04 had one on it when I bought it. I recently traded it in and jumped into the '15 Ram (both 5.7L)
