This is hilarious, I did this same mod exactly the same way and probably the same time you did a few months ago but I just found your video now. I used a 1zz tb from Amazon, working good so far

EDIT: Forget this. You do you my dude. Happy New year and thx for the videos Are you aware of the 1.8L 2ZR-FE swap? Its a zero fabrication engine swap using a Scion xD donor car. It requires a lot less faffing around and there is tons of written guides available on yarisworld and it was also done by Mighty Car Mods. I am not aware of a comprehensive step by step video done by a true shade tree mechanic like yourself, so its worth looking into.

Hi there! Yep I am fully aware that the 2zr is a relatively easy swap. However, I feel the 1nz is an overlooked engine that is very capable of making good power and being extremely reliable (2 things that typically do not go well together). I have a pretty extensive background in Hondas and Toyotas and we tend to see a multitude of issues out of the 2zr engines especially the earlier production ones, they like to blow head gaskets and consume lots of oil pretty frequently. As I'm sure you saw on mighty car mods their 2zr lasted only a little while before blowing up, granted it was boosted but still I would be willing to bet a 1nz or 2nz would have held up much better. Not to mention parts are cheap and readily available for the 1nz as well given it was produced for almost 20 years, compared to the relatively short life of the 2zr in comparison. Happy New Year to you as well.

No problem at all! Just don't port it too big like I did! Very happy with the upgrade overall though, you will notice a difference for sure.

did you notice a decrease in MPG with this mod. More air in means more fuel.
@TheInteriorAutoMechanic
@TheInteriorAutoMechanic 14 дней назад
@@mikemike4737 well this is for a race car so I don't care about fuel economy. I've already increased the fuel injector size to 1zz-fe injectors. That being said I'm sure that fuel economy has decreased however power has increased and that's the name of the game for me.

What year and model is this manifold from? I'm in Australia and can only find manifolds for a 3 bolt throttle body but the 1zz throttle body is 4 bolt.

This is from a 2007 Toyota Yaris with the 1NZFE engine. These intake manifolds should fit from 2007-2017 and are 4 bolt. I am using a 2azfe throttle body and it works well. If you want to use the 3 bolt throttle body the 04-06 Scion xA, Scion xB, and Toyota Echo all have 1NZFE engines and use a 3 bolt throttle body so their intake manifolds are 3 bolt.

@@TheInteriorAutoMechanic thanks. I need cable rather than DBW so I don't think the 2azfe will work. I've already got an Echo with a 1nzfe but trying to upgrade to a larger throttle body. Going to be building a Prius piston, large cam, ported head engine that needs to look externally stock (I'll hide the ecu which will either be Haltech or Link).

Any company’s you know sell any of these ported manifolds is I don’t have to make it lol
@TheInteriorAutoMechanic

Unfortunately there are none that I know of. The best thing I can tell you to do is just to buy an extra intake manifold they are relatively cheap, port it and then swap it over. Just be sure to get a Yaris intake manifold because the Scion Xa,, Xb, and Toyota Echo are different and won't work on a Yaris. The Yaris use a 4 bolt throttle body and the others use a 3 bolt.
