Tinman "if the saw murders wood, whatever you done works" ..... me, lost it laughing hahahahaha ....... you're awesome Tinman keep up the great work bud....
Jack of all trades! Love the knowledge on all fronts! You gift keeps on giving and you share that gift with us! Thank you Tinman! Buckin’s going to just love the finished product! ❤️
Just found your Chanel lately. Currently binge watching as many of your video,s as I can. Really good content and lots to learn. Keep up the good work. Adrian from Ireland 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Ive learned a ton just from a handful of your videos. Very good explanations of your work and proof of your work ethic. You are the kind of pro I would easily choose for a saw build. I am considering having a 288xp modified but dont know where to begin as far as options and expenditures. Just for private use. Not a firewood seller or competitor, just want a cool old mean saw to run.
Man that's a pretty exhaust port. That's how I like mine. I need to get one of those foredoms. Looks like a nice set up. Can't wait to see that saw "murder some wood". Hahaha. Good stuff there.
"take the cylinder in the house and wash it" Just toss it in the dishwasher, on the Heavy Duty cycle with extra heat dry? Good stuff as usual. Can't wait to hear it run.
I am finding that I should go back and watch you videos more than once. There are things to be seen that you don't always talk about... or things that you do talk about that my knuckle dragging self needs to hear a couple times to solidify it. Rock on, brother.
Your addictive man got husky 61 putting 272 top end on been looking through your vids and enjoy it all very cleve3r man thanks for the help your giving us all great .
“The Ragged Edge Of Sanity!!!!!” 3lx tall t-shirt should just be black with a 96? Or 95? Or 97 for me..,on the back.. the old 97’s... like a black T with a red 97 on the back..as the TinBasher channel swag!!!! A tiny timing wheel on the front pocket???? 😂😂😂👍
I just bought that same exact set of burrs. They were on sale on Amazon for $12.99. They are SHARP!!! I wasn'tI expecting the quality I got for that price.
@@anthonyseidita919 Yeah they're 1/8" shank and fit my Dremel Tool. I'll look for the link and be back with an EDIT to post it. www.amazon.com/dp/B076D4Z8LX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_BB0WRTNT2G28KY11SWGF Here you go. They cut aluminum fast and show no wear. I don't know how they would hold up on continuous steel work. If you're doing aluminum, I think they are really good. I hope you give them a try and post back. Take care.
@@anthonyseidita919 Oh and by the way they say they should be held in a small 3 jaw chuck for proper centering. I have the Dremel 3 jaw and believe me when I tell you your 1/8" collet that came with your Dremel holds them much much better and there's no runout. Again, you can't go wrong with these at that price. I'm not affiliated in any way, but when I find a good product at a good price I like to pass it on. These are my 1st set of the 1/8" burrs, I have many 1/4".
Trying to get a grasp on process of a saw build. Tinman, you modify the cylinders for another shop that is building the saw? How does a person begin to have a saw mo
Cylinder looks nice man, excellent work. Nice to be able to grind for an hour and still pick up your coffee! That saw should rev freely with that early EX timing. This would be an excellent candidate for a narrow kerf bar and chain eh? I'm having great luck with the Oregon speed cut. Narrow saw kerf, cuts like a demon. Just a thought...
Thw difference on my smashed hands is incredible!! I think this saw would be too much for a narrow kerf setup. Not sure how much power those chains can take
Hey tinman a can't wait to see this saw. when you are done with it. Then the next build we want to see you do a 365xp and turn it into a reed saw. Only joking buddy. Good work.
@@tinmanssaws a think you could easy. A can't wait for the pioneer build too. The homlite you build for buckin was a monster. This is one of the best channels on RU-vid. I see people here in the UK chainsaw groups talking about tinmans saw on RU-vid.
It’s always made me wonder...why weren’t they even thinking....!!! If I was on the team we would always do a final sweep to insure that you could access every nut and bolt... the problem is today that we have over complicated things and designs of every system and every component that they stack crap on top of more crap... for me it doesn’t help that I have the right hands for a dude 6’ 300lbs..... not a alien that’s 5’ and 100lbs. and 1/2 rubber or liquid... I really like the timing chain and water pump on the Honda Pilot’s... tear the front of the car off... it’s always a great day when pulling out your engine helps get you on your bolt like fixing an old Bobcat or whatever... but it’s also a challenge!!!! I just Yelp and call it out and into battle!!! Like O’ yeah... it’s on now boy!!! I love the Chinese stuff.., it’s allowing the chainsaw guys to save a lot of money... those are a good unit if you have issues get the oem foredom sleave and shaft rebuild kit... you might want to watch the Foredom video and watch how you grease your spring in the shaft lightly and oil your handpieces... I dig torque! The long cotter pin like you use for a wheel hub retain but... hammer the eye flat and trim the shaft length and you have a nice long slit that you can chuck into your handpiece and then you slip little 1” strips of 320-500 emery and you have a perfect little exhaust port polish tool... and it’s not a dollar...😂👍. It’s actually very useful on anything you want to polish up a little.., 👍😁. Awesome Shot on the Bevel of the port window!!!! Huge training tip right there! Every single one needs it ...so you have to just make sure that you do it no matter what...new cylinder swap requires some hand work up of the components to make a high quality engine... you get better results if you knock down the edges.., even if you aren’t porting.. I comment that you want to break the top edge around your new piston and people think I’m crazy!😂😂😂😂😂. But, heck, I already knew that!!!😂😂😂😂😂. Love ya, Man!!! Keep Teaching and Preaching proper technique!
Do you or have you done any port work on any jonsered saws? I have a older 621 that needs a top end and was thinking about maybe working the ports just a little bit
Not to change the subject but what year is your yamaha in the background i had a 77 yz 400 nice old bike it had a Wiesco piston and i ported it it ran awsome if i geared it right it would do 100 mph no problem
HI TINMAN, i have a question. if you delete the gasket to get more compression then raise the exhaust roof will you end up with more compression than stock. or will it just add rpm. many thanks caleb
I love buckin too but I watch this channel to get something else...be your own man and be original...you dont need to talk about buckin Billy ray smith every darn video ...please ...love your work
One of my favorite things about RU-vid is the community...for years I have watched Buckin, Harvey and now the Tinman build eachother up and work together, rather than try to tear eachother down. Its a helluva thing. I tend to give credit to those who offer me opportunities. I'm happy to mention those who have given me a hand up, on the regular. Those pivotal people in my life will always occupy my heart and my mind, and anyone who knows me will know about them. I suspect Tinman is of similar mind.
