Personally, I think that France overall are the better team and I get it, it’s surprising they they’ve made it this far at this tournament especially since their attack has been underwhelming and they’ve yet to score a single goal from open play as out of their 3 goals, 2 of them have been own goals and 1 was a penalty and Deschamps is yet to get the best out of an attack that’s stacked with talent. Here’s the thing, in major tournaments, attack wins you games, but defense wins you titles and while they aren’t scoring enough goals, the only advantage that they have is their defensive solidarity means that they’re a tough team to break down on defense because when they allow other teams to have the ball a lot, they’re comfortable at hitting them on the counter attack. Their luck will soon run out assuming their attack doesn’t start scoring goals from open play. I agree that Spain and Germany have been far more appealing to watch and convincing than them, regardless of how they play, France are a team that you don’t want to be counted out as there have been times where other teams are better than them and they don’t always look good yet they somehow manage to do well in major tournaments and they’re like the Real Madrid of international football in that regard.
