If you don't move a patient - bedsores can develop in 2 - 6 hours depending on condition of skin - they need to be turned around the clock. thanks for the comment/questions
Great video. My question is...What if my client doesn't feel comfortable turning every 2 hours or so? What if theres no telling them they need to do this? 😫
Why are they refusing? Is it painful or uncomfortable? If so you need to ask the medical team about medication for pain. If a patient can't tolerate care or a position change - they need intervention with medications. Also if it's at night - perhaps only turn every 4 hours. Gladis, Make sure the turn sheet is low enough under the patient to have much of it under their butt. You may need to roll them onto another turn sheet - like a bath towel that isn't so slippery. Tip the patient upside down if you can by raising the knees high and the head low. Thanks for your question and good luck in your caregiving.

You two do things correctly. Sorry the younger nurses tend to drag rather than lift the patients. I’m not fully blaming them. We don’t teach like we used to and we don’t expect as much either
Oh boy have you hit a nerve with me!!! I've been a nurse since 1976 - things have really changed in the work ethic but we keep teaching!
