@@clamshell6863 pretty sure it is Kandar. I saw the clip from the remake and I can tell the difference between kunda and Kandar. The deadites are called Kandarian demons and in army of darkness the castle is called Castle Kandar, not Kunda.
@@clamshell6863 you can literally hear the dude in the origin pronounce the “r”. The remake just has a weird way of saying it, but it’s spelt kandar and pronounced like that
I really love how the guy was smart enough to realize that when the ritual was being read aloud he should immediately turn off the record player but unfortunately for him the evil has also gotten smarter.
I felt SO BAD for Ellie! She was a good mom who did her best to support her kids and to have the Kandarian Demon violently attack her was tough to watch
this is not a guy, but a girl, look at the cast of actors, another transformer from a girl to a guy, the creatures were completely afraid. Born a girl - that means a girl, born a guy - that means a guy, no others exist and cannot be, all the rest are sick, who should be treated with current, geeks
And got the worst luck out of the 4 people releasing it because the first man readed it outloud The 2nd heard it on a reproductor The third readed it out loud too and these were easy ways to stop it 😭
The most unrealistic part is not burning or yeeting it into a volcano to be out of human reach upon finding it. When has finding a demonic looking book through questionable circumstances ever led to anything good? Think about how many times it's gone bad. "It's just a book, no harm ever came from reading a book." you're right because I'd burn that book in a heartbeat!
This sounded way gnarlier in the theatres. Who knows if thousands of theatres play this mantra in unison it could really summon a Kandarian demon for reals.
I started getting nervous when the incantation began, cause that's when you know it's about to really hit the fan. Saw this in theaters and hearing it then, was scarier. But, this still will creep you out. Hopefully, Bruce appears in the future.
I love the bass put into the voice once the chanting started. Shows how powerful and inevitable the evil in this movie has become compared the last one.
@@wynterpill im confused on that too. I feel like maybe this clip was taken from the official channel for the movie or maybe its from a recent trailer that was released.
Went to the cinema to see this and believe me the scene hits you totally different to watching it on here. The incantation and the demonic voice... Absolute superb. Sheer goosebumps ! Not to mention the cold shiver running down your spine 👌 🧟♀️
absolutely loved the way this scene played out. I love how Danny changes his mind and tries to turn off the turn table but the evil has already taken control of the situation kinda unfair but shows how evil doesn't play by the rules and isn't very forgiving. And the build up in suspense and distortion in the audio. It really felt like we the audience are listening to something wicked, something we really shouldnt be listening to. Chefs kiss, bravo, well done! Cant wait to get this movie on DVD
My own headcannon for this recording. The Priest got possessed and was in the process of expelling the demonic force. Before he succeeded, the demon made this recording as a contingency plan so that the chaos it created can resume.
These scene was my absolute favorite of the movie. The sound design, the choice in camera angles and transitions, the incantation track, everything was bone chilling!
I’m just picturing the Spirit going through the parking lot etc because it hears the chant like “oh shit that’s my jam!” Then accidentally runs into her.
Amazing sound design. I saw this in Dolby Digital and this part just stuck with me all night after the movie. Apparently they used a frequency that is not technically audible to human ears, but it elicits feelings of anxiety and uncertainty. So cool
They should make a prequel now where they have to show what happened to father marcus and their fellow members of church and how eventually he put that book in the safe closet.
The whole scene freezes you, you just stand there and watch in terror, like a deer in the headlights. This movie is definitely better to be seen in cinema.
Hello everyone.....! My name is Ashoka. I am a Sri Lankan citizen. I watched this movie today at the New Imperial Cinema in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka. This is really a great movie.
whoever is reading this comment WATCH THE MOVIE!! The mother’s reactions to seeing the evil hit her and just being trapped in that elevator with it is incomparable. You feel like if you were her you’d be sh*t out of luck!
The sound of this in the movie theater was truly amazing. Imma be rewatching this movie forever. Currently writing a sequel to evil dead rise and will see if I can make it into a film
Sound engineer should get a nod for an Oscar. I know the academy doesn’t recognize horror genre, but damn, it was the best sound design and mixing I’ve ever heard in a theater. Easily the best and scariest part of the film for me too. I got chills and even felt sick to my stomach.
I remember seeing Evil Dead 2013 roughly 1 week after seeing Jurassic Park in 3D ten years ago. I was terrified as the film progressed through the gory, graphic scenes. And now for this film, I'm ready to be terrified again! And I can't wait!
the part that’s scary is that the second the record started saying the spell he stopped it. but it still kept going. like at that point what else can u do
The records say that the Book of the Dead in this movie is one of the three volumes of the Naturom Demonto and I think I've figured out what the other volumes are. The other two volumes are from the original 1981 movie and the 2013 remake. The books in Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness don't count as being parts of the volumes as they were known as the Necronomicon Ex Mortis.
Go rewatch the Evil dead 2013 again notice the details Once the book got dropped with blood the Evil is summoned The Evil was whispering Eric to say the word basically he was already manipulated by the Evil
Danny the second you heard that priest say “I will now commence the spell of the book of the dead” you should have destroyed that record immediately. This is all your fault dude.
Dude that long hallways shot with the music swelling as the camera zooms out from the closing elevator just fills me with so much dread. It feels like you’re officially strapped into a roller coaster you’re not ready for and you’re realizing it’s too late now to turn back.
I read somewhere that the incantation can be (very roughly) translated to: "This is the path, devouring demons, possess the evil dead and ruin us all."
The film really relates with our recent lockdown...we are all stranded in a room or house, with our family...and no one to make physical contact...it adds to the evil of the theme...no wonder why they chose to be in a room, rather than the past Evil Deads, that was set on a cabin on a deep forest...I want another Evil Dead movie but based on the whereabouts of the people/priest in the recording...i wonder what really took place on the nght of the translation of the passages...no Evil Dead movie had done that, it was just all from a lefted recording...The Evil Dead 2 has a scene where Prof. Nobie had an actual translation but he only foretold the events on a recording where his wife Henrieta was buried in the cellar...i can imagine the horror took placed wiith this priest.. i bet it will a nice add for the franchise...because the priest told many things about how his fellows turn into deadites...is anyone curious about that???
Am I the only one who would absolutely take the chance and go crazy trying to decipher what the OTHER parts of the Necronomicon do? Like, if just one incantation summons those things, imagine what else is in there.
In the Ash Vs Evil Dead show they summon different kind of demons from the book. I recommend it, it follows the more unserious note of the second and third movie.
