I just got back from a very active 5 day family trip to Long Beach CA and Aurora CO that included five of my “grown” grandchildren and partners. At one point I said, “You need to remember that you have a 76-yr-old on this trip.” One of them said, “Well, if you would act 76, we might treat you like you were 76!” The nicest compliment I’ve ever received! Happy birthday, Annette!
You guys are so cool. Happy birthday Annette! 🎉 I’m so fortunate to have you to look up to. I want to be you in 25 years! Thank you for doing what you do and sharing it with us!
Thank you for the update. Happy birthday, Annette. It is really neat to still have a parent or parents at our age. I would not trade mine for more freedom. Thank you again for taking us along on your journey. ❤😊
You two have definitely inspired me! I am 62, just backpacked in April for the 1st time in more than 30 years (trained for 6 months) and loved it, now I am planning more trips this summer and have a Grand Canyon trip planned for September (2 nights at the bottom). AND I just took my 85 yr old mother to Spain for 12 days, so I must take after her, just keep pushing, sitting still is no good. Thanks for your videos!
Happy birthday Netty! My 65th next week. Love your energy ladies. You just don't stop. I always tell my friends that it's not the walking that aggravates my arthritis, it's sitting still❤
Happy birthday! I just came back from 2 weeks of hiking in Colorado - Lory State Park, Painted Mines Interpretive Park, Chimney Rocks National Monument, Great Sand Dunes, Florissant Fossil Beds, Mesa Verde, Black Canyon of the Gunnison. So much to see!
Happy birthday Annette. I recently turned 62 and went out and got my America the Beautiful senior lifetime pass. I retire in a few days.... Ready to get outside! Woohoo!
Retirement, I highly recommend it. The best thing is Labor Day when we don't have to return to work and activities and camping clear out during the week. 😊 Best wishes on your new lease on life.
Going to GC for our 10 hike rim to rim and rim to river to rim. We are training, running 🏃♀️,hiking hiking 🥾 to be ready to spend a week in this beautiful place. Thank you for sharing your positive thoughts, attitude and hikes
Happy Birthday Annette! You ladies are the epitome of inspiration! Keeping in shape till your big trip in July will pay off. Colorado is so pretty and a great place to hike and bike.
Love that pic of Annette with the tuna packet! The expression on her face…priceless. Home in muggy KY already missing those Colorado mountains and weather. Enjoy it for us and have fun preparing for those upcoming hikes. 💪🏻🥾⛰️
I had to ice my foot. At about 10 minutes I was ready to scream. I altered the process by wrapping my toes with a small towel and starting with cold water. I added ice to the water which gradually cooled the water which avoided that cold shock but resulted in getting the foot cold. I eventually acclimated to icing for 30 minutes.
Happy Birthday Annette! I'm a year ahead of you. Will be 68 on 7/11. I joined the Cabellas club for the hiking and backpacking discounts. I'm getting cataract surgery June 18 on right eye and july 2 on left eye. I can't wait to be able to see a whole lot better and no longer having prescription glasses. Just reading ones. This will make hiking even better and lots more fun. The Rocky Mountain Over the Hill group of CMC is having picnic at the Staunton state park on the 13 of July and then hiking later. Test out my new eyes! Thanks for your motivating videos.♥️
Paid to have toric lenses put in - Medicaid didn't cover - and definitely worth it. Looking forward to going swimming, was always afraid I would bump into someone.
Because of you guys I am 💯 going to hike in and out of the Grand Canyon. I don’t know how I’m going to get a permit but I’m doing it !!!! 😂. I need to get hiking legs a little more trained for sure !
Both of you are such an inspiration! Taking the pack to the grocery store and loading up is a great idea💯… nice way to get some training in during our busy lives~
I’ll just say that even if you don’t feel you can hike down into the GC, it is possible to ride a mule down, stay in a cabin there and ride back out to the south rim. It is so dang beautiful it would be a shame to miss it all together, if you can’t hike it. Oh and happy birthday!🎈🎉😊
Happy Birthday Annette! We are the same age :) I know it's not likely to run into you, but I'll keep an eye out for you guys on the CO trails. Question, were you biking on the rec trail in Pueblo that goes from town to the state park? I'm hoping to drive down and do that soon. Enjoy your time here!
