I play a Magic: the Gathering Online Legacy league with a UW Stoneblade deck tuned for the post Name Sticker Goblin ban world. Stoneforge Mystic has always been a key card in UW Control decks in Legacy, and this version takes some of the tempo elements of Delver of Secrets decks and mixes it with control elements like Teferi, Time Raveler. Cryptic Coat and Assimilation Aegis are new cards that seem strong in the archetype.

So in round 2, if you didn't bite on the satoru you would have been able to win through the zombie army. You eat another card with the lion sash and equip it to your delver to swing for 5. They went through combat already so you didn't have to worry about losing to combat damage.

I’ve seen just the blue ones in the main deck and Kaldra in the sideboard a few times, which I don’t mind. I usually think of Coat as slightly weaker TNN that also gets grabbed my Stoneforge, which makes it more reasonable, but I still think it’s a hair heavy.

@@user-br9th4ei6v The idiom is actually "A hair too long", as in, too long by the width of a hair, when measuring distance -- as in, 'it's too much, but not by a lot'. So it's just that idiom but applied to cards -- there's one more Stoneforge target than there should be, so it's 'a hair too long', or 'it's too many targets, but not by a lot'.

@@Neophoenixfire ahhh, I see now, thanks a ton, that version is the one I'm more familiar with :) it can really fly over my head when a phrase like that gets a creative twist on top of it. for me, that's one of the many beauties of English language (I really like it!)

At 1:00:30 ish you mention using swords in the upkeep, but you can't since you need them to draw the pyroblast to clear the 1CMC on top

If you used Swords on their upkeep in round three it would've just been countered by counterbalance. I think you made the right play.

9:48 The fact that so many artifacts they print now are colored instead of colorless certainly changes some things in weird ways. 1:25:28 I don't think I've ever seen anyone choose themselves as the player for TNN before. Lol I have no idea whether you are supposed to get to choose a player there in the rules. I feel like no... It should be like playing Cavern of Souls into Blood Moon or Painter's Servant into Dress Down, I'd assume...

I think Round 2 Last game, the Play was letting Satoru Resolve and trying to not die to Thoracle. The only line this loses to is them Drawing Thoracle with Satoru which was not very likely, as they only had one Poxwalker. and if they Dredged, then they would have risked milling their Throracle. Activating Lion Sash on their turn and your follwing Turn + Equipping it to the Delver punches for 5 in the Air winning you the Game.

While I'm not sure it makes a difference in the ultimate outcome of the game, in G1 R1 at 10:38, I would have dazed the Cabal Ritual to take them off of blue mana. It's not a very common line but it comes up every now and again because they'll often need access to an initial blue source to kill in the same turn. This can end up turning daze into a hard counter sometimes because they can't afford to go for a pass the turn pile after halfing their life if you've got an okay boardstate.

Im confused. In your game vs delver what was the mistake. If you swords on their upkeep it just gets countered by the pyroblast on top of the deck from counterbalance.

At 1:25:24 I don't think you should be able to choose a player when cloaking true name. The static ability should be ignored as it enters like if a creature would enter with counters. I definitely could be wrong, and if i am if someone could explain it that would be great.

You are correct. True Name enters face down so it doesn't have the replacement effect that would typically let you choose a player.

The expectation was that my opponent was playing Goblins. My first and second turns are fully dedicated to fixing my mana situation, including a tapped land on turn one. I outright just lose to a start like Cavern of Souls -> Goblin Lackey -> Muxus. I outright lose to a Wasteland. A start of a single land that enters tapped and is Wasteland-able is VERY risky.
