PRP facials are used to improve the tone and texture of the skin. They can also be administered to improve acne scars and pigmentation. To get the best out of your PRP treatments, do follow these instructions.
1.Wash face with a gentle cleanser and dab lightly
2.There will be some redness and swelling over the treated area, which should settle in 12 to 24 hours.
3.Sleep with your head propped up with a couple of pillows, it will help the swelling settle faster. You may also be prescribed Paracetamol for the pain. You can also use ice packs for the pain and swelling.
4.If the redness, pain or swelling seems excessive, or is worsening after the first day, do contact your dermatologist.
5.The skin may look redder, rough and feel tight for a week after treatment, but it will return to normal.
6.Use a pH balanced cleanser and bland emmolient regularly. Use a sunscreen if you need to step out.
7.Very rarely, bruises may occur. These will resolve by themselves. Your dermatologist may recommend Arnica cream and tablets for the same.
8.As part of the aftercare, do not use any retinol or glycolic acid creams for 72 hours post treatment.
9.Avoid strenuous exercise, steam, sauna and massages for 72 hours post treatment
10.You can restart using makeup 24 hours post treatment.
11.Continue to hydrate and eat healthy to help the skin healing process. Avoid alcohol and smoking as they delay skin healing.
