How to make quick and easy soft Potato Pancakes stuffed with goeey and stretchy Mozzarella cheese.

@@mayasayonara9169 Wouldn’t work unless you process your potatoes with peels in a food processor. Smooth and creamy textured is what is needed for this recipe so that it would bind great with flour and hold body when fried. If wishing for it but afraid to fail just dip each in beaten egg ahd coat with breadcrumbs.. never fails. ☺️👌🏻

Just a tip for the people at home: avoid scraping the ingredients off your cutting board with your knife's edge. This is an easy way to make your blade dull or even mess up the edge. Try using the back of the blade instead (:

Thank you for bringing this up, I was about to say the same. Latino foods and their origin need to be highlighted. Perfectly reasonable to make this on her channel but it is important to talk about the origin of the dish so the true culture is not lost as is what happens when most White people make this videos that go viral without giving credit to the cultures. She said she didn’t know… but still good to fo research.

For your information, the very reason people from the global majority make it a point to emphasize where a food is from is because appropriation is far too common and our cultures get erased in the process. ANd I cant fully blame you because you grew up with whitewashed textbooks in school and dont know the entire history of what USA is culpable of in erasure of cultures. Nowadays, it happens more subtlybut still happens all too commonly so people dont bat an eye... take a look at movies like Aloha, islanders with a cast of white people. Or current trends on TikTok like "brownie glazed lips", "spa water", and "cowboy caviar." This might not mean anything to you because you've never been on the receiving end of it. In the long run, it does a lot of harm to a major group of people. Look at "the problem with Apu".. some say "well its just a joke, Indian people need to lighten up" but dont realize the harm it actually causes in the long run. So from media representation in animation, viral trends, and yes even food recipes on RU-vid....it very much matters.

I made these for my VERY picky 2 yr old, he was very hesitant at first. After 30 minutes of patience I decide to pour some syrup on them and he came running to eat it. Made him think it was regular pancakes. He loves them, I put a tiny bit of syrup though so he can really taste them. This is my new go to meal/snack. 😊 I also did a few using sweet potatoes.

Just made these. Definitely made some mistakes, but they turned out pretty well. Tips for Future Me for when I make these again: • LOW heat for about a minute to a minute thirty (right after oil) on each side; minute thirty to two minutes if doing every other with oil for the second if using gas stove. (Check to see if it’s still a bit raw.) 5 minutes WILL burn them. (You can try 5 minutes on electric stove, but not the gas one.) • If using the balls of mozzarella, break it up so it will melt better. • They do not need to be perfectly mashed. They are being cooked anyways. • Do NOT make these so big. If using the balls of mozzarella, break in half and use half in one. And finally: • Pair this with something. Don’t eat it plain. Is it nice? Yes. Can it also be a bit boring? Also yes. If you don’t have red sauce, then a cheesy Sunchip on top makes it taste great~ 👍🏻 (I am not kidding. It’s great. Potato on potato; cheese on cheese. Perfection)

@@beafraid5467 First, I didn’t burn anything. It wasn’t fully cooked in the middle even after cooking on both sides, but if I kept cooking it, it would have run the risk of burning. That’s why I say lower the temp on the stove top I used. All stove tops are different so this may not apply. Second, I am a perfectionist. When I made these, I wanted ZERO lumps. All smooth. The point for myself was that I don’t need to spend that long getting ALL the lumps especially the itty bitty ones. I was trying to get my perfect idea of mashed potatoes, not a potato pancake. And all this is my notes for next time I want to try to experiment. These will be edited or completely thrown out as I try them to see what works and what doesn’t.

Bouna Giornata Valentina, Che Carino. So many possibilities with something like this. Stuffing choices are endless. May I also compliment you on how clean your kitchen is. Reminds me of the potato croquettes my Nonna made with Fresh mozzarella in the middle but lots of Parmesan cheese and finely chopped prosciutto mixed in with the potatoes, then breaded and fried. Very popular in Italian restaurants in NYC. I may give these a try for the restaurant staff. They didn't get to try the mozzarella bread I didn't work last Sunday. made these today but only had russet potatoes on hand, a waxy potato would have been better as it has more moisture and as an experiment, I used a hard vegan cheese in the middle instead of my smoky vegan cheddar, not melty like mozza or cheddar; so, next time going to use waxy potatoes and use a cheese that will melt easily BUT they were still delicious (I did add a bit of onion powder to the potatoes) - thanks !!

I just made this with a package of instant mashed potato (because that's what I had), and it was really good. I used sesame oil to fry it in. Now I smell like Sesame oil. Haha!

Tried this recipe and it was great 👍 My potatoes were dry so I didn't add much flour. What kind of potatoes did you use? I added a little bit of mayonnaise and chives and I think it gives it a great, creamy taste. I think oil makes the pancake crispier than butter. Thanks for the recipe!

You could probably use instant mashed potatoes as long as they're thick enough. It's similar to latkes.

I think this would make a good side at Thanksgiving....You could do Muenster harvarti, gouda! About any cheese you want! I can't wait to make them for breakfast with a side of scrambled eggs....lol 😋😁❤

Hi Gina! I've never tried to bake them...I think you can try with both high and low heat, grill on, at 200°C-395°F until brown. Grease the top and bottom with some oil before bake them. Let me know how they come out!

(Update) it worked! I left them in the airfryer for 10 min. on 200°C and flipped them after 5 min.

You can find this kind of potato patties in Korea, Ireland, Ecuador...Italy as well and I'm sure in much more Countries! The lovely thing about food is that it joins and matches cultures, not divide them
