For faster response to questions contact me through my Facebook page / evolutionsto. . or email me through my website www.evolutionstoneware.com/. This is a pottery video showing a project I'm working on to make myself some unique drink coasters. The clay I’m using is called Earthen Red from Highwater Clays. The white slip is made from Little Loafers clay from Highwater Clays. The glass I used was COE 90 frit. I bought it second hand from another potter. Use a search engine to see where you can buy it from. I'm not an expert on glass or melting glass. I just like to try things. At the time of filming the world is going through a difficult and scary time with the corona virus. Many are on lockdown to prevent spread. I thought you might enjoy this as a distraction. i've done glass coasters many times but Ive never seen the egg-shell like crystals like in yours. I think pre-firing / pre-shrinking is a great idea, I'll have to play with this :) thanks for the tutorial

Hi I just found your channel. I love your clay coasters. I design coasters made from wood and fabricated ceramic tiles. However, I would love to make my own coasters. Love the glass look. I'm currently taking pottery classes and will ask my teacher about this process. Thank you for sharing your passion and design s. Hellena

Hello, very nice tutorial :) Thank you! What is the cone that you are using for the bisq fire?

Great results, thank you for sharing your process! I've found that doing a "soak" or hold time (7 minutes) or so minimizes bubbling. (I bisque fire at cone 04 and add glaze and glass on; firing to cone 5) In addition to your "medium" firing do you program a soak/hold?

Hello!! I JUST found your channel and am so inspired by your technique. I am a ceramic "artist" (I use that term lightly) and have a ton of glass that I always wanted to incorporate in my ceramics. My question is that you say you bisque to 04 and then use a clear glaze on the inside and then fire to cone 6 (2232o) is that correct? I thought glass can only be fired to max 1500o I LOVE your pieces! and really would look forward to you confirming cone 6 for ceramic/glaze/glass firings! TIA your items are OUTSTANDING!

Great tutorial. Have you tried to put colored seed glass beads any time like a mosaic?
