J'imagine l'odeur que peut avoir Paris en écoutant la Sinfonietta de Poulenc. Je ne suis jamais allé à Paris. sauf en rêve quelques fois avec le son de la Sinfonietta. C'est là que j'ai ''senti'' l'odeur de Paris.

OH! CHEERS! I love the lively orchestration and the production showing the musicians. Superb audio! This is the composer's "Farwell to Youth" subtitle full of lively nostalgia. Around 8 minutes, this section was used as a theme for some radio program.

Il est vrai que Poulenc merite d'être joué davantage. A ce propos, il a ecrit un merveilleux concerto pour orgue, que vous trouverez sur YT par le même merveilleux orchestre et Iveta Apkalna en soliste : vous m'en direz des nouvelles

Wunderschöne Aufführung dieser kompakten doch perfekt komponierten Sinfonie mit gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der dritte Satz klingt besonders schön und echt melodisch. Der intelligente und geniale Dirigent leitet das hoch funktionelle Orchester in verschiedenen Tempi und mit künstlerisch kontrollierter Dynamik. Dieses Meisterwerk soll viel häufiger aufgeführt und viel höher geschätzt werden!

At times, in this piece, Poulenc reminds me of Chausson, Stravinsky, Brahms, or (R) Strauss - and yet, he's always Poulenc.

Konzert ohne Publikum. I suppose yet another victim of COVID-19. Too bad, because if any orchestra ever deserved an audience regardless of the piece or the conductor, it's this one.
