The concrete is too wet to cut in this video. If we tried to cut it, the aggregate would chip out making a really rough cut. On this pour, it was not ready to cut until 2 days later due to the slow curing of the concrete. We used a soft cut saw and made cuts 1-1/2” deep every 12 feet. To this day, there is not a single crack in the concrete.
Question, how did you get that crew did they come with the concrete truck or did you hire a company and get a discount with already having it pour ready(rebar/mesh already installed)?
We hired the crew separately from the build crew and yes most will just charge you the labor to place and finish the concrete if you do all the prep work and order the trucks. It’s a good pay day for them as they are in and out in 1 day.
This was done as a favor to us since we use this barn in our drive through Christmas experience and it will help us in other ministries on the farm. He essentially donated his time. Pretty awesome guy! When I did price it out, the labor only charge ranged from an insane $13,000 to $6,000. You can expect your concrete charge to come in around $9,000.
Hey man I’m trying to install a diesel heater just like you. Can you send me pictures of your install or even a video on how you did it all? That would be a great help man. Trying to get it done before winter hits.
Sorry it took me so long. Lots going on here. This is a link to a quick cell phone video of what I did. Hope it helps! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lox3Nz8H9aA.html
Hey, I’m actually so thankful to come across this build. I am highly considering Pioneer for our house build and shop build. So far, they have been nothing but pleasant and Heather has been helping me over there and has been awesome. Who have you used for concrete? Are there any discounts provided to you for letting them know that you referred me? I will be doing my build this summer or next summer for sure. I will also be doing the majority of the build myself. Currently looking to build in the Northwestern Lehigh SD or in North Whitehall as we currently live here. Thanks for the video!
So your in PA? The guys who did our concrete was fantastic and gave a better price than the other 2 companies by a long shot. We did all the prep and paid for the concrete, he just charged us to place and finish it. He works the pa/nj area and I can get you hooked up with home if you like. Pioneer was great. Heather was great and I would use them again.
Yes, we did apply a sealer. I can't remember off hand but I think it was the next day. we have spilled oil on the floor and the sealer has done a great job of preventing a stain.
we put chairs under the mesh on the whole left side where the trucks were not driving. Then as each truck pulled forward as it unloaded, we placed bricks (chairs) under the wire before pouring the cement. you can see the left side chairs at 7:45 and the bricks placed as each truck pulls out at 10:20.
