@Ryan Hughes I have mentioned this in other comments, but it's perfectly safe to do so, doesn't even feel all that cold. Handling dry ice is more dangerous, but as long as you don't hold onto it for more than a few seconds, nothing will happen.

Not all that hard as long as you keep the dry ice moving and minimize contact with your hands. I've done it before. Now I want some dry ice to make soda Oooooo would fizzy Popsicles be possible if I froze the homemade soda.

I was like "Dude! You can't grab dry ice with your hands!"

He also runs with stuff you shouldn't be running with, like molten metal, instead of investing some time in setting up the experiment better

Diethylether has a high vapor pressure. There won't be anything left after a couple of hours. The pool might be carbonated, but that will be fine after letting it sit for a couple of days.

+TheBackyardScientist but wouldn't the Nitrogen/Carbon Dioxide layer displace the oxygen over the pool? Especially if it's not well ventilated. You could avoid that by using liquid oxygen, though I'd avoid setting the pool on fire with Diethyl Ether.

It's more a matter of the camera was poised in the direction to capture both the fire and him on record. But the fire is so hot that it's picking up the fire and nothing else, I imagine. Like how when you look at a fire through a camera, everything else gets darker.
