Yep, just bought one for that reason, not souly that reason, I just like the model and they imo sound better than all the rs3's after it.

its from the 2015 rs3 which has an iron block 2016-17 rs3 changed to aluminium block

Not really, the alloy DAZA/DNWA will take more power stock. The CEPA the 8p came with or even the CZGB out of the PFL 8V that’s in this will be safe to around 500-550hp, pistons/rods being the weak spot. The DAZA/DNWA will run at 600-650hp. It’s more torque on the 5 cylinder that’s the killer. For the level of tuning 99.9% of people go to they are fairly even. It’s only when you get into stupid numbers like Hank Iroz is running 1000whp+ that the alloy block needs liners. Not many people use the cast block for big power numbers and even less use them for drag racing due to the weight.

@@Mac_F87 but what about that old man that Ricky reviewed with the TTRS running 1000 bhp or something wasn’t that the same engine as in the rs3 8p ? It makes sense what you are saying as I see a few more later rs3’s running more power than the 8ps when tuned. I just use to hear people saying the 8p was the stronger engine but you broke it down perfectly 👍🏾

@@paulmichael3844 yeah that other RS3 and Arthurs TTRS is either the CEPA or the TT could have the CEPB engine. That’s what they came with unless it’s been changed out. They are essentially the same as the CZGB in this 8P of Ricky’s. The CEPA/B and CZGB can take 1000hp+ when forged for sure. People are not wrong in that the iron block is technically stronger but the alloy block just needs Darton sleeves and it’s good for stupid power. Like I say though both are fairly equal for the majority of tuning. The CZGB is just slightly updated from factory over the CEPA/B in the 8p RS3 and 8J TTRS. better pistons etc and slightly bigger turbo IIRC. Both the alloy and cast block are pretty capable and have their advantages and disadvantages.

@@Mac_F87 you know your stuff mate 👍🏾 I am hoping to get a rs3 8p next myself so it’s good to know this. I wouldn’t be trying to run to much power over stock. Have you owned any of the rs3’s yourself I have only owned a few s3 8p’s

I'm not sure if this is bait, anyway. What you are saying does not affect automatic transmissions, only manual, resting your hand on a MANUAL shifter will speed up wear on the shifter linkages and bushes.

I've got the 8p chassis - have bilstein coilovers, tops tires, a bunch of other suspension mods but still doesn't handle great. Biggest culprit is the steering though- the rack is so slow no amount of suspension mods will change that!
