Idk if this is right I’m just going by the other backstories Basically James and lily dated but broke up and James dated y/n then lily found out she was pregnant with Harry and told y/n and James, the couple stayed but y/n wanted Harry to have a complete family and then lily and James died Sorry if that made no sense
