Although I wouldn’t do it, I should point out that it’s NOT illegal (as per yours and the lady’s comment) to take a photograph of a ‘person under 16’ (child) in a public place in the UK. I can’t place links in this comment but you’ll find many UK police forces have statements on their websites confirming this. There’s also an official letter, from the Association of Chief Constables, that photographers can print out and carry that explains what is/isn’t allowed under England/Wales Law. Private events, such as in a school, club, church etc can set their own ‘event rules’ on photography and this is why any parent who has been to a school event where photography is banned believe that this applies everywhere.
I own this lens and it used to be my favorite lens for street photography. Now it's the Sigma 35mm 1.4 because it is more flexible but the 85mm I still use very often especially on people because of the bokeh! A beast!
