I’ve been reading common sense by Thomas Payne some men say I’m intense or I’m insane, you want a revolution I want a revelation so listen to my declaration! We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, but when I meet Thomas Jefferson I’m going to include women in the equal! Work! That’s all I remember off the top of my head
@@NotElla.Y Woo! When you know enough about colonial history and dress to know this girl is friendless because she's running around without stays, with her hair down, in an evening dress during the day, and yeah, generally being a pick me girl.
There weren't really "day" and "evening" dresses in the late 18th century like they had later in the 19th. Just Formal and Casual. The cut was the same; the fabrics and trim differed.
@@catewithac8978 the lack of tuckers makes it evening wear, and while I do know a woman who prefers silk taffeta skirts, they were not the most common fabric for working class women, as she is demonstrated to be. They would have existed, but her dress is also accessorized in a way that does not befit her activities. Though, you are right they didn't specifically have evening dresses, and even later they were quite often distinguished by the accessories and layers to protect one's skin from the sun. You can find a lot of "dresses" that are actually skirt top combos, with two tops, for the transition from day to evening.
@sunnygreenwood4126 We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal. *WOO* And when I see Thomas Jefferson, I'm gonna tell him to include women in the sequel. *WORK*

Literally this girl is so incriminating- "Yeah all my friends are witches" "i know how to read" excuse me what, erm, off to the wooden stake with you miss
They only like to read when it makes them look good towards men. If other women can read, they aren't special anymore. They always gotta be the special one. Besides, they hate it when other women are independent and can read better than men as well.
