Lolol that ending is amazing. 90% sure you make these to keep us traumatized and have an already established patient base when you’re done with residency
When you realize the moral of this video is to show that all of this was a dream and there is no such thing as a good OR and he woke up in the “nightmare OR,” vid.
Actually I circulate with some great surgeons and anaesthetists. I literally had a sing along session with a surgeon which included Tay Tay last week. And plenty of laughs are had. The "cool" operating theatre does indeed exist! Although not all surgeons create that atmosphere of course.
scrubbed in to two surgeries as a med student one day, first one was the fun OR with the sweetest kindest fun people, left that OR thinking I would love to be a surgeon one day. Scrubbed into the not so fun OR next and got screamed at multiple times because I was struggling with my gloves and gown … and screamed at multiple times for getting in the way … left that OR and cried in the locker room lmao
For my nursing school clincal i was on surgical and ended up following my pt for a small bowel obstruction and I was lucky and got the cool OR, the nurses were bs'ing the anesthesiologist was chill and explained all the meds and monitoring values, the surgeon let me step up and peer into the intestines and abdominal wall and explained as he went, it was chill af.
The cool ORs exist! It's rare but they exist! The more common ORs are where the are surgeons talking to each other and ignoring everything/everyone around them.
I shadowed at an open heart surgery and honestly the nursing staff were so nice. I was shadowing a PA. The surgical tech showed me everything and explained a bunch of stuff to me. It was nice.
Why can't it be like this? Do people believe that if you are kind and respectful like this during surgery people will not take it seriously enough and not develop their skills enough? Do they believe bullying will create doctors with thicker skin who will ultimately be better suited for the demands of surgery? I am curious I would love to know your thoughts thank you.
awesome man!, it hurts this wasnt my surgery rotation. But I know there are some good attendings out there! Future surgeons, remember to not act as a POS.
currently on surgery and mine is truly like the dream OR, you never know you might have an awesome attending. today I was helping close and my attending looked at my sutures and said loudly "someone's been practicing dude!!!!" and the entire OR cheered lmao
@@erintrolley3074 Man, you must be in a really nice program (at least I hope so!). Just know that some days aren't always great, but you will power through it!
Was a member of OR staff at a teaching hospital. Staff was told by the Director that since we chose to work at a teaching hospital, we were expected to help the students. If we didn’t like it, leave. Can’t speak for the medical staff though
I tried not to cry at the end because I’m anaesthesia and please be gentle to me. A little chit- chat never hurts us, not only “I need a Fowler so high patient need to touch the floor” or “HE IS HAVING A HICCUPS WHAT THE FUCK”
@@skyhappy just a weird soviet tradition. About 70% of all doctors in Russia are women, not just in anesthesia. Similar thing with judges and accountants, for some reason.
I’m a patient transporter and know next to nothing ab anything you make videos on but your videos are amazing. The ending made me laugh so hard my brother called me to ask why I’m laughing so hard on the toilet. Sorry not sorry
I actually had a very cool OR team, but i was only watching not an actual student or something, people are nicer to you when you’re NOT a student/ junior doctor.
