As someone born in 1992, who listens to tons of Metal from the 80s and obviously from the 2000s onwards, I feel like the 2000s and early 2010s were our generation's 80s. So much amazing, absolutely unforgettable music you can still listen to today. Some bands absolutely peaked with their earliest albums and it took them years to catch up to that, if they ever did. Sound like a certain famous Metal band from the 80s? Exactly my point. And yes, obviously I listen to today's music. Incredibly happy we have bands like Lorna Shore, Shadow of Intent, Ne Obliviscaris, and bands like Behemoth have released my personal favourite albums by them in the last decade or so.
My jam back then was This Darkened Heart by All that remains. This album is until this day an album I listen to whenever I can. With songs like The deepest gray, Focus shall not fail, Tattered on my sleeve, For salvation and This Darkened Heart it's an easy pick over any other ATR album/metalcore album in general imo
