Lol same here 😁 who would want to get into their heart just to be crushed 😂 (note: all mens are not same ik but still i dont want anyone atleast not untill i got my life )
Why women need to put men down to feel empowered 😂 Modern women are worshipping masculine traits of humans like it is a god All the while claiming to hate men You need to have both feminine and masculine traits to end up a successful happy human being.

And the director made them dressed so ugly. They were given horrible dresses. In the books there were so beautiful. (My inside harry potter keeps coming out😃)
As an Indian I can guarantee a saree or a lehnga (it's like a blouse with a skirt and a rectangle shaped long cloth normally called dupatta) would look really good in prom
If I saw a girl wearing Indian clothing at prom, I wouldn’t be able to look away. I think traditional Indian clothing is so gorgeous and detailed and vibrant. It kills me that there are young people out there who suppress their beautiful cultures to avoid judgement from peers :(
They dealing with africans And Black folks now😹 India is next In 5 years Bollywood would be super cool to white folks and East Asians they will start having Indian themed weddings and wearing Indian clothes
@declan harry Just watch honestly 😹 Bollywood will soon be the hottest shit in the world Movies like Qismat will blow up first. I think that one is Punjabi but yeah I think one day either Bollywood will blow up or the world will steal more of Indian Fashion We already wearing y'all nose rings and using Henas as Fashion
Before anyone takes this any other way, this video highlights some of the criticism brown girls face in schools. It’s a parody of the “mean girl” who makes us feel bad about our culture. I’ll post the response to this soon :)
As a japanese, all the people told me to stop talking japanese because that annoyed them, so I just taught my best friend japanese and we started talking about them in japanese so no one would understand, and one day a boy came to me and punched me in the face and started mocking me,so i just pretended he didn't even do anything and just talked with my friend while punching him again.
@Lilo is the baddest🏳️🌈⃠ You stinks the most……. Stupid leftist brainwashed girl and Indians are not Muslims you stupid girl….. Muslim stinks not Indians
@liloisthebaddest1429 neither I and my fellow Indians, go to NYC streets and smell it 💀 it smells like s h # t, IDK who’s armpit did you smell 🤣 or it’s just a stupid American stereotype
nothing wrong with oiling your hair.. just have some consideration for others and don''t bring oily hair to school. It smells quite pungent. No different than not dousing yourself in strong perfume/cologne, it's about consideration of others.
My cousin wore a Sari to Prom but felt insecure at first as she was the only South Asian in her school year, little did she knew everyone loved what she was wearing and she ended up being awarded the Prom Queen. Just remember that being unique from people is what makes you special
Why is it considered not hot to care about grades? Like bruh I find the dedication and hard work it takes to get good grades MUCH more attractive Edit: Y’all are trying to explain things to me that don’t need explaining. I never said that not having good grades is unattractive, idgaf if you like to feel smarter then your S.O, and to the people speculating about my race, someone does NOT have to be Asian or Indian to care about grades. Chill
You'd be surprised; many men do not like feeling less smart than the woman they are with, but also many like women that can match or exceed them. Everyone has different insecurities, but we really shouldn't worry about the insecurities of people we don't know anyway, especially some nebulous "boy".
Why don't u ask it to RU-vid itself? Will it be able to survive without us ? ........i m not being rude but telling the reality of business world they don't care about these things at all , they only want profits😊@@ChannelTerminatedbyRU-vid
I'm really glad my school is extremely accepting. I wore a traditional hakama (Japanese-American btw) to a dance and I didn't get hate. I feel really bad that others have to suppress their culture to fit in. Don't listen to what other people say, you do you.
It might have to do with the fact that people beautify Japanese culture a lot so it's better accepted. Indian culture is either seen as exotic or gross. Well, people never seem to have a problem with any cultural wear tbh cuz it's always pretty and seems classy. It's the other things that people would laugh at, like the food or the holidays or the religion. People really need to become less ignorant. While Japanese culture is better accepted, it's only because of people seeing it as exotic and mystical and fantastical, which once again is kinda dehumanizing
@@Drannn54 wtf, guidelines? US is a free country and doesn't restrict anyone from wearing their own cultural dresses. If I go to US i will abide by its law and not what some stupid people say.
this just seems like her personality is a defense mechanism to assimilate better with her peers and she's trying to save the new girl from having to go through all that she had to
I’m Japanese and recently wore my grandmas kimono to homecoming and it was a pretty proud moment. I felt proud to be representing a tradition of wearing these clothes that my grandma got to wear when she was young and when she lived in Japan. Just thought it was a cool story and you should never be ashamed to wear clothing apart of your heritage! But good video for awareness! Discrimination sucks
@salty!lavender First, good going on you, I wish I had the courage to do that back in highschool. Second, I have so many questions. 1) Did you dress yourself, or did someone else? I personally prefer RU-vid tutorials, but couldn't wear some things without some outside help. 2)What type, furisode, homongi, tsukesage, komon, yukata ... etc. I guess homecoming parties don't have dress codes for traditional dress, and no one else would know the difference, so you could wear whatever you want, right? 3)Where did you get it? Bought online, in store, gifted, heirloom, thrifted? 4)How did you accessorise, especially footwear? Especially since you were probably dancing, right? 5)Do you follow people like Sheila Cliff, or Billy Matsunaga? OK. Maybe I'm obsessing too much. Love to see others wearing kimono.
What the hell are you bullshitting about? America is the most accepting of any culture. So much so, it has become a melting pot for nearly every single race & culture in existence. There's people from every and all parts of the world and their own cultural holiday to celebrate it.
I remember being in first grade and getting bullied just because I was Chinese :( I couldn't make any friend because I was so afraid of being rejected by others. I also brought many Chinese dishes like Dim Sum for lunch. Many of my classmates made fun of me by saying that “the food smelled bad”. Those days were really depressing for me, I sometimes ended up crying at home after classes.
@@i_only_simp_for_myself800 Thanks :'). That's so sweet of you. Thankfully, many year have passed and the mindset of people are changing for the better! There are more understanding and thoughtful people now 😊
@@haruru8618 I agree. Now that kpop, kdramas and some Chinese kpop idoles like Jackson wang are getting famous, more and more people are respecting and even loving the Chinese and other Asians traditions. Chances are that some of the mean kids that bullied you, are now dreaming about visiting those East Asian countries.
Same I can really relate with u except im native american. Was bullied every year from 1st grade till 7th I was that kid who ate lunch in the bathroom. It gave me social anxiety but luckily im in college now and doing better😇 i hope u are too sending hugs u r RESILIENT!

@@lilac2507 I'm from sri Lanka and we have very similar culture but some of our culture is different (btw I'm just saying I'm not bragging so pls don't get mad 😗)
There's more to the story than this. Being a minority can make you want to assimilate, this is a survival instinct instilled in us since tribal times. If you were different, you would be cast out and if you were cast out, you would not survive. This is why places like schools need to be more aware and accommodating to their minority groups, so they do not feel embarrassed and that they have to choose between their culture and acceptance.
Look, I’m sympathetic to that, but when you respond to your fear of being ostracized by not only erasing anything about yourself you find “ethnic” but also threatening to ostracize those who want to do what you chose to sacrifice in the name of assimilation, that’s crossing a line Everyone has their coping mechanism, everyone has the right to discard their culture, but mean is mean and mean people know deep down they’re in the wrong. I had enough white people growing up telling me that my heritage was vulgar or evil or weird and all the rest of it. I did not need other people trying to get me to stop being me in order to quell their repressed personal feelings

@@carol4147 We do though. And we are not enough. If we were enough we wouldn't need to improve a single thing. Keep improving and you'll find someone willing to do that with you, your team mate, because the best team, is the one that consists of a man and a women who decide to create a family. We both need each other, but definetly don't need feminism.
@@ledialeylaago191 Uh... Yes we do? Feminism is the fight for equality. You can't be _partners_ if you aren't equals. And there are plenty of reasons besides that one why everyone needs feminism - even men. Remember that it's the fight for equality, so even issues like men being the unfavoured party in divorces and child custody falls under an issue that feminism is trying to solve
@@ledialeylaago191 we definitely don't. If one day I decide to improve myself, it will be only for myself and not for anyone or any man. I'm sorry if your life revolves around other people. Mine don't.
Sari's are the most beautiful outfits I've seen. Indian weddings are unparalleled in the detail & grandeur. If it wasn't appropriation I'd wear a sari in my wedding.
It's not appropriation if you learn the history and culture and sentiment behind it and not just wearing it 'cause it's 'wack' or 'colourful' or 'cool' or you intend to make fun of it. If you wear it with an Indian/Hindu sentiment, it is appreciation, not appropriation. People doing yoga is not appropriation, right?
It is INDEED appropriation to wear desi clothes. Unless u are going to a south asian party with other south asians you shouldnt wear them. You can also wear desi clothes if u travel to a desi country since that would be considered assimilation.
I have good news for you, cultural appropriation is a myth. We’re all one human family and we’ve been sharing cultures with each other since the dawn of time.
First off, love the way this was structured rhythmically. I was half expecting a rap battle to go down. Second, GOD, as an Asian-American, the nuance behind assimilation is just...oof. Like, being an ethnic minority is hard, especially if you're more seen as a foreigner (regardless of whether you were born there). People have to realize assimilation is not as simple as "fitting in:" it's survival and the constant moral struggle of what it means to really be yourself in a cultural context.
I would argue to some extent we all experience a form of this, it’s just not culturally based. When your white you don’t have a good excuse for being kinda awkward
@Cassandra Tafoya I dont get what they mean with 'white washed' though. White people all around the world have diffrent types of culture and diffrent ways doing things. When you get used tk acting a certain way because thats how all high school kids act like, doesnt mean your 'white washed'

I am all for other races enjoying our culture and wearing our dress but for god's sake plz try to wear as much authentic Indian dress as possible, it is a bad habit of Americans to take something from other cultures and mutilate and change it to such a degree that it's no longer represents the culture or comes from, Like the dress Beyonce wore

I’m an Indian guy and I went to a near all white school and dealt with an insane amount of racism. I ended up whitewashed, but was able to undo some of it during college. I’m still not as close to other Indian people though, and I think it’s because I never got to grow up with them. I really wish I had a better connection with my culture as a kid, but oh well, I’ll make sure I don’t repeat that cycle.
