Season 6 of the original Power had a great ending!! The fact the whole "who shot ghost" was even hyped up on social media....Loved it. Starz is really tripping..If it wasn't for Power and Omari Hardwick who put his foot into the Ghost character, Starz would not be the network it is today.
You're talking my talk. HTGAWM was the best series finale. I loved that it ended the same way that it began with Christopher on the bike. I'm mad that I stayed up all night waiting on Power! I saw somewhere that it was the most watched show of all time.
I fully agree about Power. I was so underwhelmed with that finale! The whole season felt rushed. And it didn't feel believable that Carter just let Nico take him to jail. Especially after he was trying to channel Denzel in Training Day! I'm looking forward to @itsrox dragging this show in her review!
Yep they would've been better off combining episode 9 and 10 for a two-hour series finale. The finale definitely gave "we're just trying to fulfill this contract and move on."
I remember Shonda Rimes saying in several interviews that Grey's Anatomy would last as long as the actress who portrays Meredith Grey, chose to continue-- as MG was the lead character and the highest paid. I haven't watched in a while-- but I remember being surprised to learn in the early seasons, that MG was the "star" of the show bc it was such a great emsemble cast. Even with frequent cast shake ups.
It's not the same. She's barely in any episodes. I think they're trying to maybe phase her back in, but ima tell you, it's NOT the same. Plus they killed or wrote off too many original characters smh
Shonda's shows fall off at some point, it gets really random. I loved Grey's, adored Scandal, and Htgawm. She seems to hold on to the actors she likes, in lieu of the most talented actors with the most interesting storyline.

The series both Power Ghost and Force ended due to STARZ plus 50 has his own production company and building a streaming platform. So all his shows have to contractually end so the new ones can be solely under him. ✊🏽

I’m genuinely starting to think that these companies don’t want to see black led tv shows winning. I normally do not think about things in that way but.. I’ve noticed .. the black shows that seem to be on top are ALWAYS getting cut short… on multiple networks. It’s like when the black shows are outshining the rest .. the contracts ends.

Well, I must say I was surprised at this last episode. Effie given the money to Cane so she can get rid of him and focus on herself. There will always be a connection with them. There do need better writers 📑. When will Effie and Riq finish college? They need to elevate their characters to college graduates to adult life outside of college. Braden is my guy however, his character is a sucker. What happened to the councilman Tate? I thought he would take be taking out Tate. Carter seems like a character he would have snitch on everyone while in cling cling(prison).
That HTGAWM finale ruined my life! 😂 Why they do Bonnie and Frank like that!? Annalise died as an old woman which was amazing though. But as for Ghost, the whole show felt rushed so I’m confused why ppl didn’t manage their expectations for this finale. I thought it was great considering what show I was watching.

I’m soooooo disappointed in Karen. I honestly think her ego and this image of being the “grande dame” is preventing her from being vulnerable and taking full accountability for her actions. I do not give grace to drink driving or DUI’s. If Karen had hit someone or even kxlled someone, we would be having a different story. I’m undecided about watching RHOP because candiace is no longer there. Normani is also not serious about music; that’s it. Great video and lots of love from London ✨
I think modern shows like to finish strong on their own terms (like Insecure) OR behind the scenes issues with the network or production (like with Power and its spin-offs) get in the way.
It felt rushed because it was. Starz and 50 couldn't come to an agreement so the Power universe ended over there. If you saw the post credit it basically hinted it will continue elsewhere. I hope sooner than later
Starz may have messed their bag up. They didn't want to pay people what they were worth. They did this same thing to Living Single. Think about how bad & rushed their last season was after they fired dude who played Kyle. The only way the Power franchise will survive is if they move to a new network or 50 takes it to his own nerwork. These networks ruin black shows and often rip them off. Another example: Our Kind of People, which was on Fox. Omg Tommie wtf. Ima call her Tommie "Cakesoap" Lee now 😢 She's bleaching. When black people bleach, you can tell because the light hits them in a certain way. This is how Vybez Kartel looked every time he bleached his skin. He bleached his skin so much that now he has health issues 🤦🏾♀️
I sat at the edge of my couch last night in expectation, knowing in my heart that something fantastic was getting ready to happen. Sadly, nothing. It was predictable to me. I agree, they could’ve ended it last week if they were gonna go out like this.

Tommie and Erica has always been the most beautiful on L&HH to me, but baby I didn’t know who that white woman was when I first seen her. She’s definitely bleaching and it’s a shame. Her skin looks like it hurt.

HTGAWM ALWAYS had great endings and her speeches were ICONIC! I've watched Grey's since it premiered 21 years ago and they're season finale's are usually top-notch but I wish it in. Almost all the old OG cast is gone. Meridith is NOT the reason I even watch it now.
I agree with your sentiments about Power Book II continuing for a few more seasons. The show broke crazy records. 50 is building his on platform for his shows. But my question for you, is how long have you been watching? It sounds like you’re a newbie lol.
For it being canceled & having to be rushed... I actually liked the finale. Diana really came through bussin finally in a way that wasn't cringe. Anya being taken out shook me & Noma's reaction had me crying. Cane executing Noma... Loved it! I didn't think it was stupid of Effie to help Cane because he came through for her before as well. I don't think this is the end. 50 cent will say or do anything for reaction & to drag. It has way too much potential. I'll be waiting, but hopefully not in vain.
I don’t feel they really gave Effie time for her story in power because why I just seen her mom and heard her backstory a episode before the finale lmfao no one knew who Effie was this whole time 😂
I agree with you rodney. Insecure could have been a great show if it would have kept going and had more episodes per season. There's nothing wrong with the show going out on top but and the words of your boy MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! LOL I don't like when seasons in feeling rushed like you don't have a complete story. Complete all the stories or something but it has to make sense not ending and you're like what's going on?
I loved the first two seasons of Power Book 2... loved the concept of Tariq being highly educated but a drug dealer at the same time.. not sure why they cancelled and rushed this season because it has so much potential.
Shonda shows are so robust because they’re soap operas. They’re meant to be open ended with no real conclusion. They’re meant to last as long as possible. Power is just a “regular” show that’s lowkey meant to be cancelled after some time. Insecure was a sitcom like Girlfriends. If it’s doing well, it can last forever but as soon as raitings drop sitcoms are the first to go.

Tommie despite her attitude has always been one of the most beautiful people I’ve seen on that show I cannot believe she did that wow And in regards to power Norma did a wonderful job acting out that crying scene but the episode seems so jampacked with everything it should’ve been split in two and even then I was disappointed with the last episode but I love the franchise for sure
This season was a mess even if it was.a season finale it was just blah. These are some of the most polarizing characters and flip flopping characterization in its entire show run. The decisions made this season was all over the place but it is what it is. Like you Rodney I still don't understand how Tariq gets one over almost everyone of these top drug dealers all these seasons it's just so unrealistic to me. Ghost and Tommie at least were working under somebody in their young days then elevated as they got older but your telling me Tariq who more or less lived a charmed life up until he was what 16/17 come on. Maybe it's because I used to watch the Wire and know what is hard core mess from that show made me just roll my eyes at the Tariq St. Patrick I;m nothing like my daddy. Please
50Cent knows what he’s doing by making Power chapter:2 end. 50 knows that Mary J Blige could face potential indictment with the Diddy case so in order to NOT make Mary look bad and the show take a fall behind the Diddy scandal he decided to end her life on the show, smart move. I think it’s a good for the show to let it settle down for a season or two then make the show resurface with a new beginning and let the cast grow up a little. Tommie my girl but she is bleaching and watch Tommie say that she’s not bleaching and that it’s her skin care she is using. All skin care has bleach in its products to help with discoloration and pigmentation. May weather is going to pay that stripper off quietly like rich people do all the time😂😂. Normani is talented and she needs a NEW team to help push her career because what she is doing is NOT IT! I agree with you about Normani wanting to be a socialite because she was first doing Uber or Lyft on RU-vid then being the face for Air BNB and now back to singing like girl what is going on😂. Rodney, if it would have had longer time they could have built all their personas up and then we could have understood but knowing that they were going to end it the season they should have changed some things or they should have just let last week's episode be the end and everybody went their own way since Monet was gone. Noma could have left and went back where she came from
