Live To Roll - This is my friend Tom, another c5-c6 quadriplegic with a completely different transfer than mine so here is how he does his transfers every day. Tom gives some great tips for transferring and shares some of his knowledge to help anyone learning to transfer.

At this point, I've been struggling with transfers. After watching your video, I applied your technic and was able to transfer to the bed. In the future I plan to try your technic to transfer into my chair. I can't thank you enough!!

Very smart idea having a call source nearby in case things go south. Speaking of setting yourself up for success, If you were to wear one of those shoulder things (posture corrector) to keep your back straight...it would be 90% easier.

Nice job man, I cheat when I get into bed I have a trapeze. I grab ahold of it instead of sliding around so I don’t brush up my ass and end up with a sore lol 👊👊👌👌👍

I would have thought you'd use a low air loss mattress. Don't you get pressure wounds with the mattress you have? Thanks you for making this video.

Both Tom and I use basic mattresses and neither one of us has issues with skin. But we do both make sure to move and turn during the night.

hey do u know what kind of mattress he uses? im trying to find a full thats pressure relieving but also can go up and down. so many choices, it’s pretty overwhelming.

Yeah it can be overwhelming but you'll figure it out. I think Tom just used a regular mattress with a air top (I think). I just use a memory foam mattress since I can turn myself during the night.
