An early-morning dock-out from the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli base offered the Italian Challenger for the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup an outstanding and variable session where they had a little bit of everything. This was a day of pure power and class from a team that seemed to have effortlessly moved from their LEQ12 into the beautiful new AC75 with an ease and assurance that is remarkable.

Many people saying this cup will be closer , maybe the Louis Vitton but by the final the the tiny margins will become so magnified that it will be one sided . Unless Barcelona offers shifty conditions it will be a procession .

Although they are sailing on older generation foils this boat looks super twitchy in high winds, a very stark difference to ETNZ. That boat looks super stable even in high wind recon footage.

New Zealand has been sailing with an AC75 for 4 months, Luna Rossa hasn't touched an AC75 for 3 years, it's clear that NZ has more control, the differences will be seen in 1 month when all the crews have become familiar with these boats. I would add that NZ is an evolution of the last boat, Luna Rossa is totally new. making predictions now or talking about sensations is purely useless.

E' uno spettacolo vederle veleggiare, ma a me sembra che si sia perso il contatto con il mare. Preferivo i vecchi scafi, ma probabilmente è una mia nostalgia. Vola Luna Rossa!

In linea di principio i mezzi più consoni a navigare "sul mare" non sono le barche ma i sommergibili. Una barca si muove sempre sopra il pelo dell'acqua, che si tratti di scafo o foil immersi cambia nulla, sempre barche sono, l'importante e che la forza motrice dipenda sempre dal vento e dalle vele, se li confondi con gli aerei allora hai dei problemi a capire cosa significa barca a vela.

@@Rationtoxicbe' sicuramente aerei e barche a vela non sono la stessa cosa. Ma entrambi condivido quello che si chiamava effetto portanza. Mentre sulla randa tale effetto la spinge in avanti, la forma dello scafo insieme alla velocità del vento relativa, l'aiuta a staccarsi dall'acqua. Se guardi bene la chiglia con la coperta hanno tutto l'aspetto di un ala.

Lots of moving water... Seen from afar the foils seem to generate a fair amount of resistance.

I’m liking LRPP, AM, ETNZ, they seemed to have cracked into iteration 3. INEOS…………..😢well they seemed to have gone down the wrong rabbit hole and created PIG2.

We have 4 boats that pair up with each other with there differences ETNZ ,Luna Rosa, look similar you have INEOS , American Magic that look similar it’s gonna be a battle of the designs ETNZ did a epic 7hr session yesterday looking quick stable under all conditions gonna be interesting who makes it to the final to challenge ETNZ all the best can’t wait

Ad ora solo NewZeland e Luna Rossa hanno i vecchi foils sulla nuova barca. Alinghi ha foils nuovi, Ineos foils nuovi, restano da vedere americani e francesi.

@@matteopucci ovviamente non ne capisco nulla....ma credo proprio che rispetto a quelli anche già visti su New Zeland anni fa....sono grandi e con una forma ormai non utilizzata praticamente da nessuno. Gli altri sembrano essere tutti più lunghi sottili e più dritti. Penso aiutino sulla velocità di punta massima. Ripeto....da profano ho questa sensazione

@@matteopucci Per regolamento quando vedi i foils coperti significa che sono nuovi. I foils presentati scoperti ed in bella vista al varo sono quelli legacy, cioè quelli vecchi.

@@alessandrostagno4720 Diciamo che quelli piatti, stanno più sul pelo dell'acqua dove c'è meno resistenza, quindi si permettono di andare più veloci, quelli triangolari tipo LR vanno più in profondità per permettere miglior controllo in virata.

@@mintoxace5571 It boils down to the foils. Whoever has the best foils will likely win the AC. Of course, other aspects of yacht design matter, but foils are most important particularly in this cup because the boats will likely be much closer compared to the last AC.

@@ISeeManyTube with those primitive foils Louis Vuitton won the last one, and the America's cup was played with NZ, furthermore they are not primitive they simply have a different effect in the water. In hindsight he chose the flat ones.
