These 37's have over 488 lbs of wheel and tire on the rear axle, can't wait to do the comparison with the stock tires. That's a lot of weight to get moving!

Always enjoy seeing your truck, thanks for making the footage of it! Nice honest review. I was going to comment that you might want to try 35's but then you mentioned you're going to try the stock wheels for comparison so it will be really interesting to hear what you notice. Looking forward to the future content!

I put a Mishimoto rad on my 01' 24v and it works great. One thing to look for is the back of the old radiator was absolutely clogged with dirt and oil clogging any kind of air flow that was going through it which was my issue. DO NOT go electric fans, no electric fans out there pull as much CFM as the factory fan does.

07 power stroke here. Put a 6,7 Cummins with a big single and big injectors with 4.30’s and 37’s. I love it for pulling heavy. I too dislike the early lockup when partial throttle or maintaining speed in low speed areas. The ford rad is twice the size of the ram, and it’s a mishimoto. I use the 6.7 fan clutch and ps fan. Mine runs about 185 unloaded on the freeway under 60 mph. 190 around 72-75 mph. Towing 14k+ it runs 195-200 on the freeway and the same in town in stop and go. Highest I’ve ever seen it was 208 with 22k in logs behind it in stop and go in town traffic. I also run a 5” with a muffler. The 4.30’s help low end with the longer spool time of the larger non vgt single.

12 Valve Dually that’s with the ford 5r110 My 94 Obs has a 12v, zf5 with 3.73’s, 35’s hx40 with 5x11 sticks. It’s runs a few degrees hotter(coolant) than the 6.7 truck just due to shear rad size I think. It’s more comparable to the second gen size It’s also a turd compare to my 07 swap., but I never have to worry about egts like I do the 6.7. Eventually I’ll do a24v with twins.

What’s up man. We have talked before on ur last video about the truck. I have very similar set up. Put in a torque converter lock up switch. It is so simple to do. It’s just grounding a wire. An taking out a relay. You might have to go to the dealer an get it reflashed to work probably, but it’s a awesome upgrade an makes it so u can control lock up. Just google dodge to lock up switch. Fleece performance makes a nice coolant bypass. Clean cooling system. An upgrade trans cooler. I have 2 B&Ms with electric fans under my bed, an I just did mishimoto trans cooler up front in stock location. Made a big difference. Also if u haven’t yet, eliminate the trans heater on the side of the engine, under the turbos. Those things are junk. They will leak. They are not needed.
@StockyBaldman
@StockyBaldman 3 года назад
Hey man, absolutely I remember. I’ve tried doing the lock up switch before but for some reason it will only work two or three times and then it just stays locked up and I have to restart the truck in neutral. This truck has a lot of electrical gremlins. I have the BD trans cooler hooked up but no electricity running to it. This truck needs an electrical overhaul.
@StockyBaldman

Also the lines going in and out of the tranny heat exchanger have blown out on me a couple of times. Super annoying I’ve probably spent $1000 on ATF on this truck

I have a 98 12 valve pull a 14 K rated trailer with 12k in it no heating problems I did upgrade to a Mishimoto rad. What auto do you have? And what is your final ratio in said trans. I have a nv5600 37’s and 3.55 gears. You say 4.30 is back to stock. I need to regear.
@StockyBaldman
@StockyBaldman 3 года назад
Yeah that’s good to hear, I would most likely go with the Mishimoto. I have a 47RE and I believe the overdrive ratio is 0.69:1. One thing I didn’t mention in the video is that my valve body is able to lock up in any gear, I just need to install a switch so if it ends up being locked up in third it’s not that big of a deal

@scaryperson27

If you have an auto, make sure it is firmly going into lockup. Maybe get a trans temp gauge. Under the exhaust manifold, there is a tranyfluid to radiator temperature exchanger (don't know the actual name). Running say 30lbs boost, high EGT's and unlocked is a good way to throw the coolant temps through the roof
@StockyBaldman

one concern : in 2000 the 24 valve trucks had the number 53 on the engine block and if you havent heard of the 53 block it tends to crack so if you are going to get it get it cheep and be prepared to change the engine I know of an older guy that ives near me and he has a 1998 2500 quad cab long bed but the block is cracked one day my brother knocked on his door to see if he would sell it hes said $500 and that the truck has been out of the salt for about 10 years ( in ontario they put salt on the roads in the winter and it rusts out cars and trucks) but in conclusion buy it cheep and be prepared to change the engine out

Try more rpm to keep it cool. Also your condenser looks beat, that's definitely restricting air flow. Just remember the stock cooling system was designed to cool 200ish horsepower.
