I think this is the first time I've ever seen Arin not pick the female character, that is surprising.

This last weeks format of 1 long running series and 1 vs/one off is very enjoyable.

This actually looks.... Way more advanced than streetfighter.... Utilizing the so-called FX chip for half the background for the scrolling train effect while also having multiple walkpaths to detect both melee and range attacks hits... And At around 7:10 you guys smacked each other at the same time and it registered... Where-ass in SF its about who got the move off first, the length of the moves frame-cycle, etc. This looks way more complex where it counts but also about as visually exciting and initially accessible where it DOESN'T count- and that's seriously fascinating to me. Where really complex mechanics make for the kinds ideas the average game maker comes up with - "wouldn't it be cool if...." - but they make the game so clunky that they never win out over simpler designs.... It's the balance you have to find and that's I think the secret recipe. A much lesser example on a different end of the spectrum is L4D.... It employs simplistic mechanics enough that somebody who excelled in oldschool quake engine games can likely immediately beat out the experts of some of the quirks of L4D's Engine, and mechanics and values for special undead, spawn location, etc.... And quickly come into the fold to appreciate and adore those quirks (strictly talking PC here but I highly doubt many are playing on Xboner with 360 compatibility etc over PC...) and then get as acclimated as a veteran of all the glitches, quirks, AI triggers and spawn locations as a veteran.. But the game and its mechanics has caused it to dwindle quite a bit, at last visually to me over much more idiotic and less objective based, difficult (especially in PVP/Expert) games. I feel as thought KILLING FLOOR has more players than L4D and it has MUCH simpler design- because many just wanna hop in, vedge out with friends and slaughter infinite waves over understand several mechanics and how they come together all at once. Again- different example- as this game also suffers from immense slowdowns and looks like my eyes are catching AIDS just watching you play- but within that spectrum of complexity. L4D 1 and 2 did very well initially but they've since gone very quiet outside PC mod holdouts and special modded game modes. Killing Floor 1? I joined a stupidly pointless 50+ man server than has at least 25 people vedging out to it 24/7. It's just fascinating to me. I'm high. I'm sorry.

So I thought I'd unwind with some game grumps, after watching Zelda I followed up with power moves and was falling asleep until I heard the grumps calling my name. I swear I thought I was dreaming and Dan and Arin were trying to get my attention XD Play more games with Joe so I feel closer to you guys. I'll join the D club ^_^

I used to love this game as a kid. My cousin and I would play it all the time. It’s totally a shallow street fighter clone, but we still enjoyed the hell out of it.
